THE PRICE IS RIGHT

If you read some of the reviews below, you will find that they some of them stated that there was a long walk to the main building. In order to avoid that, request a "preferred room." For that you will pay a small extra charge, but it is well worth it. The "preferred rooms" are in building numbers 1 and 10. If you simply ask for building 1 or 10, and not a "preferred room" it likely will not trigger the small extra charge and you likely won't get either 1 or 10. If you want to sleep late one morning, be sure to put a "room occupied" sign on the door, cleaning maids start at 9 a.m. As a Disney pin collector, I found their significant changes in Disney park's pin trading procedures very disappointing. The park staff no long wear pin trading lanyards, and pin boards were hard to find in the parks except in Animal Kingdom. Many of the park's places where they offer pin trading offer a 14 inch square wooden cabinet that holds 24 one-and-a-half inch boxes containing one pin in each box. The guest is allowed to choose two numbered boxes. What is in those two boxes is one's choice to accept or refuse, and is the extent of the trade. Thankfully, All Star Music Resort offers two large pin trading boards, one in the gift shop and one at the front desk. A new attraction at Animal Kingdom Park is their "Kite Tails" show, near the Asia section of the park, where they fly animal figure kites by speed boats. Beautiful!

Great Stay

Reviewed 22 november, 2021

Just left here after a six night stay in a family suite. We had no complaints about the room or resort. The just remodeled family suites are thoughtfully designed and big enough for six people. While there isn’t a lot of square footage, there is ample storage space with drawers, hooks, and shelves everywhere. The bathroom has multiple towel racks. In the main room, the queen size pull down bed is very comfortable and cleverly turns into a table large enough for four people when put up. The other bed turns into a couch when put up, so you don’t have to sit on the beds all the time. The pull down beds also make the rooms feel larger. The main room is like the regular rooms at the hotel. In the family suites, there also is a bedroom with a queen bed and a second bathroom. The tvs are large with all the typical channels. It was really helpful to have a kitchenette equipped with a large refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker and microwave., and supplied with disposable plates, cups, and silverware. The kitchenettes are only available in the family suites. The regular rooms have a mini refrigerator and a coffee maker. We had no problems with busses. Maximum wait was 15 minutes and the drivers were very friendly. If you have a scooter or wheelchair, the drivers are very accommodating. We didn’t use the pools or other amenities but they looked great and well maintained. We were in the Calypso section where the preferred rooms are located so the distance to the front of there resort wasn’t a problem. Based on other reviews I was concerned we’d hear noise from other rooms, but it wasn’t an issue. No more than any other hotel. The front desk staff were exceptional. They were knowledgeable and able to work magic when we needed help with park reservations and a few other requests. Housekeeping comes in every other day to replace towels, replenish supplies, and remove trash. They work very hard and do a great job. I stay in hotels 45 to 60 nights a year, and almost always notice maintenance issues I need to call in. I really had nothing to complain about here! If you plan to spend most of your time in the parks, you’d be very happy at this resort. It’s clean, comfortable, and the service is great!

Disappointed

Reviewed 13 november, 2021

Our family of 3 stayed a week and had a great time at the parks, but definitely wished we would've stayed somewhere else. The standard room is extremely small, small bathroom and alot of walking just to get to the room. There were no trash bags in the trashcans in the room and no microwave!! If you wanted to heat anything up you have to walk all the way to the food court, heat your food up and walk back to your room.. which is alot when you just want a quick snack for your child or yourself. Also, the beds have blankets on them like you'd get at the hospital. Our television was extremely glitchy too. The resort itself is nice. Has heated pools, a arcade and food court, but the rooms and set up was a complete let down. Also, it took 3 days just for my handicapped mother to get a scooter to ride. This was our very 1st trip to disney and my son would be disappointed everytime we came back to the room.. For the amount of money we paid it definitely should've been nicer. The only good thing is The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The buses to the parks were very accommodating towards handicapped people so we got on the buses fairly quickly but the lines for others that had been waiting there and had to wait on other buses was upsetting. I felt like we were cutting a line. I wont be staying here anymore it's not as nice and extremely small for what we paid.

Worst Disney stay ever

Reviewed 3 november, 2021

We just left a visit here and will never be back. Stayed at numerous Disney properties of all price ranges over the years. This was by far the worst—and not because it’s a value resort. If you’re planning on utilizing Disney buses to get to and from parks—good luck! It’s not usually too bad going to parks, but coming back to the hotel is an absolute nightmare. We literally stood at Magic Kingdom station and watched FOUR buses come and go for All Star Movies while our line was five rows deep and growing. Another traveler complained and a few minutes later one little bus showed up. We were here for five nights and didn’t have housekeeping once the entire time. They tried to clean our room twice—both times at 5 pm while we were napping and showering for the evening ahead. Never in all my years of traveling the world have I ever had housekeeping show up at 5 pm. Never! Disney obviously had access to our daily plans and park reservations, dining reservations/activity, so it’s a shame they don’t actually take that info and plan housekeeping schedules accordingly. Like many Disney resorts, our walk to/from the main building and buses was far. Our room itself was very clean upon arrival, but everything else was far below our expectations for Disney. We definitely would have been better off staying at a nearby hotel and renting a car.
