Great Place for the Whole Family

Kidani Village is a great place to stay. We had a 2 bedroom villa, which was very spacious for my family of 4. The rooms are well-appointed and the savannah views are wonderful for the kids. Like all of Disney's main resorts, expect to pay a premium to stay here. The gym had everything we could ask for and the pool was a lot of fun with a big slide for the older kids and small slide for the toddlers. The splash area structures are nicely done too. Pretty much the entire staff was very friendly, welcoming, and informative. Our only negative staff experience was with a snooty host named Mark at the check-in area of the Sanaa restaurant, but it wasn't bad enough to reduce the 5-star rating. The dining experience itself was good. We'll visit again.
Awesome room with an awesome view

This was our third trip to Disney and our first as a Disney Vacation Club member. We had previously stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and Art of Animation and had enjoyed those resorts very much. The size of the deluxe studio room and amenities offered blew our previous experiences away. Yes it is a fairly long walk to the lobby but nothing like the walks we had at Port Orleans and Art of Animation. Bus service was excellent our whole stay and Disney transportation is important to us as our son is in a wheelchair. Speaking of wheelchairs the room was so large that we were able to park our son's wheelchair in the room out of the way and didn't even have to dodge it. We had purchased an Animal Kingdom contract earlier this year and I was skeptical but left very happy that we had purchased it before we had even stayed there. Every cast member we interacted with was very courteous, helpful and professional. It's a beautiful lodge and the scenic views of the savanna are very nice too. My wife and son loved the savanna view and it's worth the upgrade if you can swing it. I especially loved the underground parking. No sweltering and baking in the hot sun especially when loading and unloading our luggage. The elevators every 20 rooms or so and that made it a close walk to the room when moving the luggage in and out. We liked it so much we've made reservations for a family trip to stay there next June in a 2 bedroom villa for a week. We absolutely can not wait!
Animal Kingdom Kidani

I LOVE Disneyworld! This was my 7th time staying on property. Twice at Fort Wilderness Cabins( LOVED them!), 3 times at Art of Animation at Cars family suite( also LOVED!!!) Especially got spoiled by the 2 bathrooms at AoA suite, and another time stayed at the Value resort All Star Movies with a friend ( I couldn't beat the price of $798 passholder discount for 7 nights). I was worried about staying at All Star Movies value resort but it was an absolutely wonderful experience!! There was also another time that my family and I stayed at a beautiful outside resort, the suite was like a mansion, had it's own waterpark and 7 pools, but I never again want to go to Disney and spend time at a non-disney resort. The only way to explain, is that there is a VERY BIG NOTICEABLE difference staying outside of Disney, you just DO NOT get the same Disney experience. It's better to pay for a value resort at Disney than to stay at a 5 star outside resort even at a lesser cost than a value resort. You just won't get the all inclusive feeling, which for me, is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART of a Disneyworld vacation. You can truly feel the difference once you have experienced staying inside of the Disney bubble. With all this being said....I will try to explain Animal Kingdom Kidani.... A deluxe resort, so I was SUPER excited! Animals on the Savannah...again excitement. 2 bedroom, 3 bath Villa with kitchen, living area, huge balcony, washer and dryer. Wonderful living space. However.....very disappointed in the long walk to our room( about a quarter of a mile once off elevator). I wouldn't have been so dreading the long walk to our room every night if it were at least interesting. But no!!! Just looonnnngggg hallways with same carpeting and door after door after door!!!!!!!! Remember....I have stayed at the Value resorts, which many people claim is a hike to the room, but NOTHING like the hike to the Kidani Villa!! And don't even bother purchasing a refillable cup! The gift shop is closed by the time you get back from parks, refillable station is inside gift shop. There is another refillable station outside of pool area, but also closed and they don't re open until 10am in the morning!!! At least at the value resorts, the drink stations are available 24 hours. This was also the VERY first time that our room wasn't available upon arrival. In past years, even when we drive down and arrived at 6am, they always had our room available. Every single time!!! I do realize there is a shortage of employees due to Covid, so perhaps that was the problem this time. So completely different times from my past experiences and nowadays, so I knew I just had to be patient. Kidani is beautiful, very beautiful! Our room/Villa was wonderful. .but the quarter of a mile Trek was NOT so wonderful ..especially after a long day at parks. Luckily, we were fast walkers and didn't have any children with us because I tried to imagine having my grandkids with us and making them walk that long walk after a long day. One of the reasons I chose this resort was not only was it one of Disney's deluxe resorts, huge viilla room, animals outside on the Savannah, many varieties of animals, which is AMAZING to sit on. So your balcony and watch! However, if your plans are to get to the buses to get to certain parks, by the 2nd day, you are over the animals! I know thats not very nice to say, because that was my whole excitement about being here, but most people don't go to Disney with plans on sitting on balcony all day to watch animals. We have Disney parks to explore! With that being said, many people complain on the long bus ride to Magic Kingdom. Yes, animal kingdom is a ways from the castle, but that's not something that I mind. I love talking to fellow Disney Lovers on the buses, so for me, the transportation is never an issue. That is just not a negative to me, so I never mind the distance The sister resort, Jambo House, does have larger pool, larger gift shop, 2 restaurants and they do have transportation between the 2. Or you can just walk the short 8 minute walk( feels shorter than the Trek to your Villa) I am really glad that I was able to experience this resort because I can cross it off of my list. However, I will never do it again, unless it's close to FREE. I am only trying to give my opinion opposed to the other on property experiences that I have had, all the others were AMAZING!! This one, was not so amazing, but it was nice enough. Enjoy your Disney experiences!!!

This place is amazing. Seeing all the wildlife around the property is a real treat! Nice sized rooms, great for families. Both pools are awesome. The restaurant in the basement is also top notch, amazing food!

Having always wanted to stay here, we finally stayed here in Sept 2021. The rooms were incredibly small, and offered very poor value for the money charged. The travel time from the lobby to the room was ridiculous, and the buses were flaky and unreliable: the screen at the bus stop would show a time (maybe 30 minutes away), but the app would show one in 5 minutes… neither turned out to be reliable. The view of the Savannah is the only redeeming feature, but we didn’t see very many animals, so overall it was a big let down.
