Avoid at all cost due to the noise pollution from the on going I4 renovations

This hotel a very very basic, the hotel is situated along the I4 corridor which is currently under major renovation. If your looking for a comfortable night's sleep after a long day at the parks then this hotel is not for you and I would strongly recommend booking somewhere else. The noise from the renovations on thd I4 are ridiculous trucks going back and forth until the early hours of the morning. Thd hotel rooms air-conditioning unit is not self sealing due to this it lets every little bit of noise in. I've stayed in basic hotels for a lot less per night which allow basic needs like sleep to go undisturbed... The hotel needs to be informing there potential customers of the on going I4 renovation. On their website and that this could disturb a customers stay...
HORRIBLE! NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

I am very disappointed with my stay at the Rosen. When I booked it it said you could purchase breakfast for a fee, when I arrived they stated that they didn't do breakfast at that location, so why offer it online?? This was part of the reason I booked to begin with. They then had a problem processing the security fee on my card and asked me to come back to the conceriage in the morning. When I did they didn't even need my card to process it, wth! Waist of my time. At this moment I told them about one problem in the room which was the safe and I got no response like I never said anything to the lady at the desk....Ok. When me and my family went to the room the first night it was nothing like I thought. The beds had very thin sheets on it and very smaller sized pillows. The safe in the room to put your valuables in as I mentioned before did not work. The door to the bathroom area did not slide so no privacy and the microwave, fridge, and coffee machine was located in the bathroom by the sink area!! When my husband took a poop yup the smell was next to that area. Yup one star for husband's poop and for the hotel putting it in that area...To top it off there was no remote for the TV. When I called the front desk when I finally started getting fed up with the problems they brought me two cotton blankets that they claimed they didn't have to begin with. Ohhh and to top it off the best part maintenance decided to show up at 10:39pm when we were already sleeping and knocked and yelled 4 times! I would think after the first knock you would stop. A curiosity call might be nice before showing up at a time that people might be sleeping. Luckily my husband and daughter sleep very deeply. Not worth the money this is a $60 a night hotel and I will never come back here again!
Clean but pillows made for poor night sleep
Reviewed 11 november, 2021
The gist of it… The room was clean. The beds were ok but the pillows were not… didn’t sleep well. Stayed for one night only for about $70 out the door. Unlikely to choose again based on lack of sleep. However, it you aren’t hard to please in that department, this was a decent bang for your buck. Parking and WiFi included. The breakdown… Pros: We arrived at the hotel around 8pm Tuesday night. We were greeted at the gate (yes, it is gated which is nice), with a warm, friendly smile by Simon… he was very welcoming. Check-in was relatively easy. The room appeared clean and was well stocked with towels. While we weren’t there long enough to use the amenities, they do have a pool, a gym, a small store selling snacks and such, a game room and more. The WiFi and parking were free, which isn’t always standard these days. They have a Shogun Japanese Steakhouse attached to the hotel but unfortunately, they closed earlier than what their website stated… so we didn’t have the opportunity to try them out. Now for the Cons: 😕 We chose a room with 2 double beds, as opposed to the king, bc I move a lot during the night (we have a split king at home). I mention this bc my husband slept in the bed nearest the window and AC unit. It was a little chilly in the room so we turned the heat on to 70 degrees but kept the fan running, for circulation, so it wouldn’t get stuffy. Unfortunately, due to the position of the vents and the inability to adjust their flow or direction, it blew directly on him the entire night… which he didn’t care for. Additionally, while the beds themselves weren’t bad, the pillows were awful! They were square, firm, and quite thick… even while sleeping on my side, my head was much higher that I would have preferred… so, sadly I got very little sleep. Summation: We have stayed at various “star” level hotels (3, 4, and 5), with this one being a 3-star. We picked this location for its proximity to Universal Studios, the cost, and bc our stay would be brief (one night). That being said, this particular location rated somewhat in the middle of the 3-star class for us. We have stayed at a couple hotels that rated lower than this one for us (usually for lack of cleanliness or hard beds), but alternatively, we have stayed at some that were in the same class but were nicer and/or the overall stay was preferable. Not sure that we would stay at this location again simply bc neither of us slept well, despite being exhausted.
Excellent Budget Hotel

A friendly Simon at the gate said they had been waiting for us all day. After 9 hours of driving that was very welcoming. Room was clean, beds comfortable, except pillows, and staff friendly. It was a wonderful budget friendly hotel, and I would stay there again.
I found a "pin-worthy" recipient

Upon checking into my room I set the air-conditioning to a lower temperature. After hours of letting it try to get the room to the temperature I like (67°F) it was apparent that something was wrong with the unit. I called the front desk and Briane (yes, with an "e") Moskowitz from the engineering dept. arrived shortly thereafter. He did his best to repair the unit but the problem was not able to be repaired in the room. At 8:30 in the evening this guy had to change out the entire wall unit. He did it in good spirits and as quickly as possible. The result was a really nice night's sleep. Years ago Tripadvisor sent me 2 lapel pins (picture attached) to give to employees who go above and beyond. I gave one of those pins to Briane. He earned it. The hotel was a great value for the money and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
