Good value, central location, and incredibly friendly owner-operators!

Let's be frank: 3-stars is probably the HIGHEST rating of ANY hotel in Oskaloosa, IA. This rural town of 10,000 population is just not your typical destination for business travelers or vacationers. Accordingly, the scale of measure needs adjustment into more intangibles, such as "super-friendly owners" in addition to the basics of location, cleanliness, safety and value. So, if you're expecting the Presidential Suite, you'll not find one in Oskaloosa. But if you need a quiet, safe, clean and affordable room for the night, check out the America's Best Value in Oskaloosa.
Great place to stay

I stayed here for 6 nights while working the races at Knoxville. What can I say the Manager and his staff were great very friendly and helpful. They let me check in early and were helpful in extending my stay. The room was clean and nice bed was good and everything was great. I would recommend this as a great place to stay.
No. Just no.

I’m writing this as I stand in the middle of my room. It is not clean. The chair...well, just look! I’m fairly certain my sheets have been slept in. By someone I don’t know. A dog. Or demon has chewed on the table. There are no bed bug encasements on the mattress, box spring or pillows. What’s on the door handle? I don’t know. There’s no way I’d walk on the carpet without shoes on. I’m gonna sleep in my cousin’s car, because I can’t do this level of filth. I’m teetering on an existential crisis here. The couple that own it seem nice enough and I don’t generally leave bad reviews. But I’m not staying here. It’s that bad. If a forensic UV light was brought in, I’m not sure if anything would NOT glow.
Do not get what you pay for!

Room was very dated, carpet dirty, dresser's dusty. Only a small shower, and AC not cold. The breakfast mediocre, no meat or eggs. Stay was disappointing, extremely over priced. It will be extremely hard to consider ANY Americas Best Inn again, drive on by, BEWARE-- if we would have cancelled we would have still been charged!!!
Good Value. Spacious and Clean

I have stayed at this property several times and often stay for the week when I am in the Oskaloosa area on business. In my opinion, you get a lot of bang for your buck with big rooms, large newer TVs and handy furniture like armoires and desks. I like the fact that I never hear noise from neighboring rooms and the hotel has a back wing for a bit more privacy (has a cookout and sitting area). The husband/wife team are friendly and helpful and I like attentive on-site owners as my primary concern is usually a nice quiet enviroment to relax and sleep in and the Best Value Inn does a great job with that.
