After staying at Les Suites last year we decided on somewhere else this year, opting for the Courtyard Marriott (never stayed here before) over the Novotel (stayed some time in the past). Imagine our surprise when we opened the room to door to find that the Marriott is in the process of renovating its rooms, and have done an excellent job making them clean, bright, modern-ish, and comfortable (see our photos). The Marriott's location in the heart of the Byward Market is perfect, including easy access to not only the best of the Market but also other locales such as Parliament Hill and Major's Hill Park. There's lots of parking both at street level and underground. Your room key gets you in and out of the parking lot. Gone is the bathtub, replaced by a shower, and the swing-in bathroom door, replaced by a barn-style door. A nice looking vanity has been installed, and for your use there's an ironing board and a hair dryer. The look again is modern and clean. In the bedroom there's an empty mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, desk and chair, as well as a sofa. The bed is on the firm side, similar to what we have at home, and provided a good night's sleep. Staff were friendly, efficient, and effective. During Covid your room will not be made up on a daily basis, but we're used to that now. All in all we had a great stay and the choice for next year is a simple one.
Great location ! Amazing customer service

By far the best customer service ever experienced at a hotel. Huge shout out for Christina who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Hotel is located right by Byward Market and walking distance to parliament, Rideau centre and most attractions. Lots of restaurant options right outside the hotel. Had an upgraded room on the 4th floor which overlooked the inside courtyard. By not facing the street, this room was quieter. The washrooms were clean and newly upgraded. Due to COVID pool use needs to be pre booked. We were fortunate enough that both days we booked the pool and our family was the only one in it. The only downside was the room we booked advertised 2 queen beds. The beds were def not queens (we measured!). They were doubles. Disappointed as the reason we booked this room was for the bed size however the service and location can’t be beat!

Absolutely amazing location. Well maintained hotel for the most part. In need of a little update, but otherwise fine. We found the city Biward Market area in dire need of clean up. Pretty sad to see our national capital like this. We will certainly come back... In a few years to see it again once all the construction sites have been completed.

We chose this hotel because of its location and because of our comfort with the various Marriott brands. We were certainly not disappointed by its location, just a minute’s walk from the ByWard Market with its pleasant ambience, shops and restaurants. It would have also been an easy walk to Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and Ottawa river. We were pleased by the parking options at the hotel that provided a choice of a street level open-air lot and an underground garage with elevator access to the hotel lobby and guest room floors. The one staff person we met was friendly and welcoming. We weren’t surprised by the lack of food service during the pandemic, but at least there was a vending machine option for snacks and plenty of eating options nearby. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but looking a bit dated and devoid of any flair in its style. It was facing inwards, overlooking a rooftop, which was a very dull view. The upside was that it was perfectly quiet, which a street-facing room in this four-storey hotel may not have been. The Courtyard was a safe and predictable choice at a reasonable price for such a well-located hotel.

Nice hotel with perfect location in the Market. Rooms are nice and clean but a bit small. Staff is very friendly. Amenities are bare but fine. A lot of bars and restaurants near by wich is very convenient.
