We felt at home! All employees, from the general manager to the waitresses & front desk agents, were very customer service oriented and helpful. Pool was nice. Breakfast buffet 😋 yummy. We frequently go to this hotel and love it!

My family of 5 really enjoyed this hotel. We stayed for 5 nights in July.
The hotel was clean and bright, there are large windows, and most of the time we didn't have the lights on because the light from outside lit up the room so well.
The beds were big and very cozy. We were able to get to rooms with a connecting door, one with 2 double beds for the 3 kids, and one with a king size for me and the wife. We were able to get this because we booked early July/late June, and stayed late July. The connecting door was very good because if the kids were sleeping we could close the our side's connecting door and it could only be opened from our side.
The TV's didn't have a lot of good channels, but although they didn't move from the wall, I was able to unplug something and connect the kids Nintendo switch to the HDMI port. There are also very nice desks under the TV with outlets so it worked well for the console.
Also the safes were very roomy, and we had one in each room, so were able to lock up the console and accessories and my laptop, although my laptop had to be positioned on an angle to fit. This was good because we were not in our rooms for much of the days.
We ubered to the hotel ( I don't drive) so location was one of if not my main concern. The hotel was right next to the Rideau centre where we shopped twice. We walked down to the locks. We walked across parliament, and majors hill. We walked to restaurants in the byward market. We even walked to the National Art Gallery and saw a Rembrandt exhibition. Walking everywhere was very easy. There is a Tim's inside and outside the Rideau centre like 50 meters away there is a small convenience store around 20 metres from the hotel (Wix Mart). There is even a Rexall maybe 5 minutes walk, which was good for getting things like chocolate milk and apple juice and Tylenol.
The heated pool was very nice, although we had to cancel a few times or only go 2 or 3 of us because we were spending so much time on our feet. The coolers were good and I could store small things of milk for around a day or two, but it wasn't cold like a fridge.
One thing I would say is a downside of the hotel is there is no balcony. So I found myself going down to the lobby and outside to vape a bit often.
Also we had quite a bit of dirty diapers, and the staff at the front desk was very kind and and would send up cleaning staff with garbage bags, and to pick up the bags we left outside the door. The cleaning staff were very nice and friendly and quick as well.
I had a love/hate relationship with the bathrooms however. The showers were exquisite, they have a large overhead shower with plentiful water, and you could make the water quite hot which I like. Also the controls were very modern and nice to use.
However I have a bidet at home, and there is only toilet paper, but I guess that is par for the course in Canada. I would have liked it if the bathroom had a bidet.
All in all our stay was awesome, staff were friendly, and very welcoming, both in the hotel and the Albion rooms. Really want to come back.
