Stayed at Inn Of America. The only thing going for the places was the location only. Room was covered in a heavy scent to hide the smell of a smoker. The check in desk doesn’t feel welcoming speaking through a window. If it wasn’t because the place was close to where I needed to be , I would not have booked here. If I had known the so call breakfast that’s included which turns out to be coffee and orange juice. Can’t believe some hotel booking sites still show this place as offering breakfast in the rate. Paid $135 for 1 night This is not a Hotel this is a Motel. Call it what it is
Horrendous experience, disgusting property

After seeing the garbage outside and questionable gentleman smoking marihuana I should've left but was not an option as all other hotels were sold out.
While at the office doing the check in 2 employees came in (housekeeping) walked right by me without masks. Then we got on the one and only elevator on site and was super dirty, no air conditioning and an overpowering smell of cigarete smoke.
At the room door the handle was sticky, walked in and at first glance the carpet looked a little dusty right next to the bed and had some small pieces of paper and plastic then noticed the burn holes on the bed covers. I went to put my bags down on the oversized table in the room and it had what looked like cool aid .
Bed covers had multiple burn holes, one of the beds was missing the blanket and the other had dry food and burn marks on the actual blanket. Also noticed what looked like blood stains on the bed sheets, lots of black hairs and a dry sticky substance on the night stand in the shape of a soda can and something spilled inside the drawer. Lamps broken, disconnected, super dusty with lampshades crooked.
The refrigerator did not work and WAS COVERED IN BLACK MOLD AND HAIR. The microwave worked but also had leftover food stuck on the corners.
The floors in the bathroom and vanity area were covered in small mountains of sand and tons of long black hairs.
The sink STILL HAD TOOTHPASTE FROM PREVIOUS GUESTS AND SOME BLACK NASTY STUFFF. There was something dry splashed on the walls by the sink. No hot water!
The toilet had God knows what on it and hair, found small dead bug behind the toilet, hairs all over the shower, MOLD on the bathroom walls
It was so much I went to the front desk, waited forever as there was a line of people complaining. The lady was real nice about it but they had no rooms available and had to wait for housekeeping. She did offer to wait in the room but with a super dirty room how could I wait ? sitting where? Standing not touching anything?
The conditions were unacceptable but she got another room for us and we checked it out but once we passed the “hang out” area outside of the room with 3 guys drinking, smoking marihuana and being loud we knew we could not stay there. Still we checked out the room and the AC was not working. She sent the cleaning lady but by the time the lady and her young son showed up to clean the room (without masks) I was pretty much done with all the cleaning (traveling with a toddler) except the floor.
She grabbed a bottle of bleach cleaner and dumped half of it on the floor. She cleaned most of it except behind doors or toilet or under the sink and the smell of bleach was so strong our throat was burning, with a baby you can’t take chances so we had to leave the room for hours. Upon our return we had to keep the door open for another few hours even though it is not a safe area and it was already nighttime and mosquitos were getting in.
In addition.... Covid protocol is not followed at all, how do you advertise that when a simple room cleaning is not done after each guest.
C’mon none of the employees had masks (even when they come in your rooms to clean with their minor children) and nothing was wiped in that room.
And stop advertising breakfast when all you offer is coffee!
UNSANITARY AND DISGUSTING

On Saturday September 12 I rented a room from them due to a pipe bursting in my home. To make a long story short my phone fell down by the side of the bed and the end table and when I moved the bed over to retrieve my phone I saw that there was dried vomit all over the side of the bed as well as the end table. I was absolutely horrified and disgusted and checked out immediately. I was offered another room but refused and asked for my money back. The woman at the front desk said she couldn’t do it and I would have to ask management in the morning at 9 am. I returned at 9am to be met with another front desk associate only to be treated rudely and was told that I would not be receiving my money back. I was upset and asked if someone could come to the room and view it with me. She refused and actually had the nerve to send another woman to sneak up there to cover up the room being unsanitary I was wise to this and went up the stairs while she took the elevator and met her at the door where she argued with me and was very rude and still would not open the door after I was just told by the front desk that no one was available to come with me to view it. At that time I called the police. Officer Kristal Cabrera responded. She was very professional and spoke with me in regards to the situation. She herself had the woman open the door and she herself went in an filmed with her body camera the vomit I then left the scene and was given a card with a case number
Shortly after I arrived back home I received a call from the same front desk staff that the manager had supposively called and approved my refund. I went and collected it but I still feel the need to report them for their shady rude behavior and their disgusting unsanitary place of business. I understand that what I was staying at was not a 5 star hotel but I feel that with all that is going on in this world that an authority should be aware of this and investigate.
Rooms were fine but poor service plus nuisances made for a bad experience

I paid over $1000 for six nights in February and was disappointed. The main problem was I didn't get my room cleaned for two straight nights. I am here on a baseball spring training trip. Games are at 1:05 pm and I leave out between 11 - 11:30. The first day they knocked on my door and I told them I was dressing and to come back. They didnt say "yes or No". When I got back they had only emptied the one trash can that I noticed, but didn't make the bed or replace the kleenex box. The next day I put the DND sign up to spare the embarrassment of the maid banging on the door while I'm dressing. As I left out, and removed the DND, I we]nt to make sure the desk clerk knew I was leaving and expected not to have a dirty room two days in a row. But she was checking in some rough customers and I didn't want to upset them by interrupting. I figured I'd call the front desk on the road to remind them. Wrong! I tried three times, at various times, and no one answered, plus no recorded message, just rang and rang. Too bad.. I am a single person and very neat. A ten minute housekeeping job would have kept a satisfied customer.
The place smelled of burnt reefer when I arrived and some of the shenanigans in the hallways taught me that this was probably a low-rent place. The desk clerk, when I complained of it, offered me some air freshener. I was surprised because I thought she was going to offer me a different room. But the air freshener worked remarkably well. I only smelled reefer one other time and didnt bother going back to get the can.
The other nuisance was the desk clerk offered me a room overlooking the pool, implying that the pool was a thing. When I went to swim, I found the gate chained at the bottom. When I talked to the owner about it, he said it was something about a part needing to be replaced. Shoot. Thats the #1 thing a northerner wants to do when he goes to Florida that he cant do back home, is swim. There was no initial apology, nor promise to have the part replaced by the end of the week. Plus no sign which would have let non-swimming customers know that stuff here is broken a lot .. but would have saved me the embarrassment of getting my suit on and going down there.
It's a shame because this was my first Spring Training and I like the baseball very much and could come back here year-in year-out if I found my sweet spot hotel. I'd recommend never using the DND sign, because the maids' guild seems to assume it means, "good, I guess this means I don't have to clean this room today". You need to make eye-contact with that maid and tell her , "I'm indisposed, but you WILL come back or I am writing a bad review, do you understand?".

Pictures of this property were not indicative of the quality. Even though nonsmoking room it still smelled of smoke and faintly musty. The mattress was fairly new and was the best part of the room. The maids never made up the room every day. Last of all thebreakfast buffet was mainly cereal, bagels, toast and a few danish. Nothing was truly bad but it was cheap for the area and reflected that.
