Nice spot overall but a bit boring.

Reviewed 18 january, 2022

Villa and the property fine in all major respects - no complaints. Avoid Bldg 15 though as the view is of a pool with pervasive Euro disco playing most of the day. There are spectacular mountain views behind this building but no windows to enjoy it. All of the pools except for one play constant pop music that sounds like Euro disco. Speakers are everywhere. Not relaxing at all. They also have huge outdoor parking lots conveniently located and you park yourself. They do not tell you on their site or in the reservation that they charge $20 a day for parking. Not an urban location and a bit surprising. And as far as we could tell all of the restaurants are closed and there is no outdoor dining (other than snacks and drinks at one pool) likely due to covid issues. Decent and very clean - but kind of boring.

A great place to collapse!

Reviewed 4 december, 2021

We've stayed here many times and always have loved it. The staff is friendly and efficient. The grounds are beautifully maintained. A hint: if you are like us and just want someplace quiet to collapse for a few days, ask for the rooms overlooking the Quiet Pool. They pipe in tranquil music, you have a stunning view of the mountains, and they don't allow loud parties, screaming kids, etc. It's a wonderful place to sit and read, while every once in awhile jumping into the pool for some laps or just a gentle soak. While COVID has forced them to close some of their amenities, the rooms are beautifully maintained and it sure isn't painful to eat ones meals out on the verandas. Highly recommended!

A family-oriented resort

Reviewed 29 november, 2021

I could go in to great detail about the Westin Willows, but will limit my review to just following: 1.Don’t bother to keep your Marriott profile updated, they don’t look at it anyway. 2.Don’t bother to request any kind of room location or floor level, because they don’t any pay attention to that, either. 3.Don’t think you’ll be able to check in at the 4 pm time if you need a room change because you’re two adults and they’ve located you right above of the childrens’ pool which doesn’t close until 9pm. 4. Don’t bother to visit this resort unless you are a family with children as the adult-oriented areas were closed including the Adult “Quiet Pool” which had a posted sign saying “amenity closed”. Also closed was the Agave Grill leaving only the pool snack bar with 100s of kids running around for an afternoon glass of wine. 5.For your $300-$400 a night all you get is a bed to sleep in. There is no housekeeping. There isn’t even a bottle of water in the room. As one can see from our reviews, we have been lucky enough to travel a great deal over the past 22 years or so —-minus Covid months. In the last few months it is has become clear hotels are taking advantage of Covid to cut/eliminate services, dramatically raise prices, etc. I do understand staff is difficult to find but hopefully that will improve. In the meantime, prepare for an entirely new travel experience —- and not a good one.

Beyond the call of duty

Reviewed 28 november, 2021

This was our second week in two years spent at the Westin Desert Willow Villas and we, yet again, had a marvelous experience. As was the case the first time, the facility was clean and modern, the resort offerings were numerous and readily available, and the customer service was truly outstanding. Per the latter, I mistakenly left a few valuable items in the safe. When i called to report it, the representatives were very understanding and immediately arranged for the items to be overnighted to me at their expense. Thus, the title "Beyond the call of duty". We can't wait to return :-)
