This place is horrible
This place sucks! I was charged twice for room. Broken tv. Given wrong room without balcony. Worst trip to the beach I’ve ever experienced. Never been more ready to just call it and go home!!! 😫 😫😫
Surprised
Our room was clean and seemed to have been updated recently. The property is older but we didn’t mind the age since the cleanliness and view were perfect. The pool is heated so that helps to occupy children on a windy day. There are swings around the tiki bar that are a great spot to watch the sunset and take in the beautiful gulf coast. Parking is limited beachside. There are additional parking options across the street. There were some questionable people & smells around the property. We felt safe and overall were not bothered, but I could see where others might view this poorly. I usually enjoy opening the beachfront door to take in the cool air, but this kept us from doing so.
No regard for guest safety
We had a 3 night stay at this hotel. The room was very tiny and showing it’s age. I used the stairwell to return to my room. The light was out on the landing between the first & second floor and the first floor light at the base of the stairs was also out. Due to the darkness in the stairwell the last step was shadowed in darkness and I missed the step. I fell injuring my, knee, hip and finger. An employee came by right after I fell and at first ignored me. I was calling for my husband to come help me up and the employee finally asked if I was OK. I said no I had fallen since I couldn’t see the last step. She acknowledged that they were aware of the problem. After my husband came and helped me up I asked if I could get a chair in my room so that I could sit and ice my injuries. It took a long time and a follow up phone call to finally get a chair brought to my room. Upon checkout the next day I mentioned the incident to the front desk and she said yeah my manager told me about it. She did not ask if I was OK or offer any compensation. Two weeks later I am still in pain and have an appointment to see a doctor since my finger doesn’t seem to be healing correctly. I feel they should have offered some compensation for my injuries especially since they were aware of the lighting issue. No one there seemed to be concerned that a guest fell in a stairwell that they knew was not properly lighted.
I wish I had listened to the reviews
We enjoy staying at small, local places. We should have listened to the information posted by former guests. Our room was tiny and needed updating, but it was clean! With no housekeeping due to COVID, sand was all over the floor and in the bed, and we had to wear shoes to walk around the room. There were not enough outlets for the frig, coffee maker, and microwave to be plugged in at the same time. The A/C was very loud and didn't cool well, so we were awake most of the night. The last night, we were awake due to extremely loud guests next door who screamed and yelled outside our room. The TV worked, but the picture was awful. Others commented on the friendly staff, but that was not our experience. The location was convenient, and the gulf and beach were beautiful. We had to park across the street the entire time due to very limited parking. If you're looking for a cheaper option with low expectations, this is for.you!
Great spot for a beautiful sunset.
Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed going back to the beach and watching the sunset. We were surprised that their ice machine was broken and being told rudely to go buy some at the liquor store down the street. They should have had ice at the Tiki bar that was advertised in several areas as open but it was not. The room itself and the location are great but for the resort fees they charge, they should offer more.
