Convenient but not at all luxurious.

We booked this hotel last minute as we had a wedding to go to in Paphos, Cyprus. It was very affordable but unfortunately you get what you pay for. Pros: Friendly British owner Air conditioning in rooms as standard 20 minute walk to the beach Has a swimming pool (although we didn't end up using it) Most rooms have a balcony Cheap Cons: Desperately needs updating, especially the bathrooms. Minimal towels provided and no bath mat. Almost slipped multiple times on the tiled floor as the water has nowhere to drain to. Shower switches between hot and cold with no warning. Clean but needs a lot of work doing - tons of limescale build up etc.. Our double room had 2 single beds pushed together - not at all practical for a couple and not enough pillows provided. Our room did not have a main ceiling light which made it dark unless the curtains were open - not good for when you are getting ready. Breakfast was not good. The 2 days out of the 4 that we had breakfast at the hotel they got our both ours orders wrong each time, and the food they served us was ice cold. Didn't have many food options and it was very basic. However the homemade butter, cherry jam and yogurt were very nice. Didn't have a coffee machine. Overall its OK if you are going to be spending minimal time in the hotel (we were only there to sleep and shower, and spent most of our time at the beach, the many great restaurants and our friend's more luxurious hotel).

Friendly, clean and safe place! Fully recommended

Reviewed 17 october, 2021

I’ve booked two rooms for my husband and myself and our friends at Paphiessa hotel in September for 15 days. This was the first holidays after covid-19 and the hotel was fully prepared and safe for all the guests. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and entertaining. We had so much fun especially at the bar and then we decided to extend our stay for 10 more days. The lady at the reception helped us with all information about the city’s best places to visit. We had an all inclusive offer the dinner and lunch was very nice and we had a variety of food each day. The breakfast was very nice for a 3* hotel. Unfortunately, I came back to Uk and I saw reviews from a group of people I met there and i was so disappointed . I would like to tell the truth and my point of view. I was with my husband enjoying our dinner and we heard a table being rude to the staff and trying to convince us to do the same. We told them that the food was very nice for the price that we paid and for a 3* hotel. The next day I saw them being rude to the staff at the reception that was very helpful and friendly to all the guests. The next morning our friends came and told us that they were trying to convince them too, to start complaining at the reception about everything and when my friend Jane told them that the whole stay was amazing they started shouting at her too. I feel sorry for the untrue reviews and for not only the staff but the rest of the customers as well because they kept shouting and causing unnecessary problems. I will definitely come back to my new cypriot friends and I really recommend this hotel.

Great place to stay

We have stayed at this hotel many times and not been disappointed It’s in a great location for visiting the area around Paphos and the rest of the island of Cyprus. Had loads of great nights in the bar area and made lots of friends in the process. Things are slightly different at the moment due to COVID but haven’t had any problems getting a good meal, bearing in mind they are having similar problems as everywhere else to do with supplies. We always have a hire car and had no problems getting fuel. The family run team at the papheissa have always had time for us if on the odd occasion we needed anything extra or changed, you simply ask nicely and you get. Our room has always been clean and tidy and if anything we have turned away the cleaners when not needed. The pool area is huge and the pool it self is alway clean and nice to use there’s even a small pool for the kids to play in and lots of seating and sun lounges. We like to wonder around the local area and it’s nice to get back to the bar for a chin wag with the staff and a couple of night caps and occasionally join in with the entertainment COVID restrictions permitting. We already have our room booked for our next visit.

Ok for bed only dont do anything else here or book all inclusive

Stayed in same room as previous comment, Sarah Evans, obviously after. Arrived, lobby nice, nice barman throughout. CCTV with sound recorders, be aware as another holidaymaker was overheard and bust up ensued with owner quoting what he said about hotel. Paid booked all inclusive. Serve 11-11. Anything else in bottles pay half price which we did as we knew would not taste weird. Pool area: nice pool, grubby stained loungers. Drinks: Poor - water tastes weird, ie for ice affects drinks, couldnt drink all of drinks etc so hardly had any, all tasted horrible.. Food: First meal, no choice and cabbage soup starter fastly placed on table. Left and never ate there again. So paid loads to eat out for the whole stay. Breakfast poor, who does cut hotdog sausages to look gourmet? Loads of young men in large group staying there, very intimidating at the time and pushed in before we could toast poor bread in toaster, so only did breakfast twice. Fruit squidgy and not fresh either in bowl., so don't bother. Don't book all inclusive here! Room: Bathroom, grubby. Shower and bath stained old. Shower targets back wall and goes from hot to cold in an instant and freezing, so a lot of screams could be heard from our room, albeit refreshing. Toilet....on first flush ball cock detached from flush, couldn't refit and couldn't unless replaced, so flushed for whole holiday by putting hand in cistern, left lid on floor for cleaner and was there all week until last day where it had been put back on but flush still not mended. Beds hard, pillows poor, (had to ask for a second one on first day) hardly slept until I used blow up neck support. Room dark wood and dated. Floor recently lacquered but has hairs seen underneath and grub, so a quick job. Cleaning sporadic, no loo rolls replaced at all, some days bins emptied, no loo paper to be flushed in toilet so bin would have stank if we were there to use all the time. No kettle, tea/coffee/milk, fridge, cups or glasses, socket for tv (only bbc world if you are from UK) no hairdryer but asked and got given a dangerous broken one. No iron but asked and got one, didn't use anyway. Got fridge day 2, kept us awake but worth it for own drinks. Shop nearby helpful for milk and drinks/fruit etc and water. We paid twice really as we had to eat out. Stayed away one night through booking.com in a great place which had everything and was cheap, so will not do all inclusive again. Will never stay there again and do not recommend. You'd be better staying at a hostel.

Birthday holiday for my husband

Reviewed 10 october, 2021

We arrived in Cyprus on the 25th of September 2021 after arriving we waited nearly a hour and half for our transfer to the paphiessa Hotel finally arrived at the hotel we were told the all inclusive had finished but we were offered a drink each on the house which was nice of them we had to buy a pizza for 10 euros as this was a standard price for a pizza room was clean and tidy we had to rent a kettle for 20 euros .the room was quite outdated with dark brown furniture ,the beds were quite hard the bathroom taps and sink were dirty and the soap dish on the bath was dirty too the floor was abit grubby in places there was also a big stain down the toilet bowl one wardrobe door wouldn't open and we had to make use of the wardrobe best as we could .We had a good view of the pool which looked a good clean size..i also noticed the walls on the balcony we're rusty where the pipes were and the drainage was dirty aswell. We also noticed that some of the sunbeds were dirty and ripped some of the tables hadnt been wiped down considering covid we were about 20 minutes walk to the harbour. The next morning we were given a small piece of paper to choose from a cooked breakfast which was undercooked eggs hotdog sausages ,ceral or toast ,there was a good selection for lunch ,but then we were in for a shock for tea time we were offered 2 choices either have what they give you or you don't we were offered cabbage soup or celery ssoup which was like dishwasher water the food was sloopy to say the least I had a very bad upset stomach from what food I ate. we had paid all inclusive but had to eat out as the food was so dire.I explained to the owner about the quality of the food but nothing changed.we noticed other people were complaining as the hotel was running out of things to eat .We asked for a drink one night we were informed by the bar manager Jamie you already have one even though we had a couple of sips.left he didn't want us to have our last drink on the all-inclusive so we had to pay .We met some friends there and I passed comment about how bad my stomach had been and the owner jumped off his chair blew a fuse in my face approximately 2 inches away from my face shouting spitting in rage NO MASK what's so ever so the owner is actually breaking covid law no social distancing I saw the owner on various occasions wearing no mask he was intimidating, aggressive with him shouting ENOUGH ENOUGH ENOUGH. To my knowledge he was causing verbal assault .People who were there were shocked to see such behaviour. We had no choice but to eat out so that was a extra cost to our holiday so in fact we have ended up paying twice there were no snacks.in between meals no entertainment. The next day.we noticed tables were dirty by the pool sheets were changed before we arrived and then once after .have attached some pics for our evidence against the Hotel. This has to be one of the worst hotels we have stayed in we had gone for my husbands birthday but that got totally ruined I will let you make your own mind up but these are all true accounts
