More about the hotel
Miss
Hotel was very old and tired, we were on 6th floor and no mini bar as stated on website so was unable to put water in to drink through the night despite very hot temperatures. One of the beds wete broke and when I complained I was told the hotel was old and nothing they could do. Room was very small and every time I got out of bed I banged my head on the ceiling as it was sloped. View out the window was a wall. I would not reccomend this hotel at all. I have emailed them regarding these issues and no reply at all. Very dissapointed.
Unprofessional
Be careful when booking with this hotel, they advertise on booking sites that you will not be charged until you check-in, however the minute you book, they block money on your account ( €100+) and when you cancel it is a mission to get the money unblocked. Michel the receptionist is rude and unprofessional in his correspondence with guests, to the extent of blaming international banks as being liars and trying to defraud their customers. Claiming they have issues with American, Swiss and Arab banks ... because American, Swiss and Arab banks clearly don’t know what they doing 🙄.
Perfect location, exceptional staff, welcoming and cozy!
We arrived on an overnight flight from New York and were quite exhausted when we got to the hotel at 9 am. Though our rooms weren't ready yet, the lady who checked us in could not have been more welcoming and kind. She asked them to hurry preparing our rooms and in the meantime we relaxed in the pleasant lobby. Our rooms were tiny, but cozy and super clean. The beds were so comfortable that once we lay down, with the drapes closed against the light, we unintentionally slept all day! The location of this hotel is fantastic, easy walk from Montparnasse (where the airport bus dropped us off) and right around the corner from Montparnasse-Bienvenue metro station. So many amazing restaurants right on the block, it was impossible to choose. We walked to the theatre that evening and saw a wonderful show, then had wine and dessert at the place right next door (so close that we could even pick up the strong wifi signal from the hotel). The wifi was excellent. I can't believe anyone is complaining about the quality of the bread at breakfast--go 10 paces and an entire boulangerie is at your fingertips! And how refreshing that this hotel is 100 percent nonsmoking! A couple of caveats--I had trouble getting the water hot in the shower. Possibly because we were on the fifth floor? And our room faced a street where people poured out of a nightclub noisily at 5 am. But we thought that was rather interesting to observe, and we were there on a Saturday night so I imagine other nights are not quite as noisy. This was not only an affordable choice but a perfect spot to base ourselves for a day of acclimating to Paris and seeing a lively, colorful and fun part of the city. Thank you to the excellent staff for providing such a great experience!
Great location; small, quiet rooms
I spent four nights here while in Paris for work. The locations is very good. It is just a 5 minute walk from the airport bus and Gare Montparnesse. Breakfast is simple-- bread, pastries, orange juice and coffee--but satisfying. There are lots of good restaurants close by.
Disappointing Hotel
Breakfast on the first day was inedible. The bread was stale, bendy and you couldn't cut it. Croissant and pain au chocolat sad and tired. Very basic fruit juice, so forget freshly squeezed orange!. Breakfast on subsequent days not much better. They say bread etc. brought in fresh at 5:00am. Our suspicion is that bulk buy is defrosted at 5:00am. Service in the dining room pleasant and friendly. At 8 Euros for a pretty poor breakfast don't fall for the bed and breakfast deal. When I complained about the first breakfast they said there would be a reimbursement. On leaving after 3 nights they explained there was no way I could claim back through the hotel, I would have to do it through the booking site. This hotel is run on a shoe string. Couldn't find a spare bulb for bedside lamp but one did appear later, thank you. Boss was never there. Behind the counter staff just standing in. You need to sleep with window shut because it's so noisy in the street all night. Our bedroom was tiny, you could just squeeze between the end of the bed and the TV, they did explain the picture on the web site was one of a superior room. So the picture on the web site is a bit naughty. Wifi on fifth floor drops in and out. In room safe broken, I was told someone would fix it by our last day but no one appeared.
