Good place to stay...for walking adventure through the city
I found reviews of Hotel Liberty from sites, expedia.com and hotel.com favorable for my plans with visiting Paris. Single fit guy here, wanting to walk and re-visit Paris on my own modest budget. Central location, friendly staff, simple clean room with a vanity, shared shower and bath. All fine if you need a room to stay, don't need many amenities and enjoy more local talk and walk. It was perfect for my visit. Pleasant petit dejeuner, coffee and a willingness to speak French when I tried. Merci beaucoup! However, anyone with high expectations for personal service and attention or requires ADA compliance...should seek other accommodations. ;)

1 star hotel should be hostel
We stayed for a week in Paris to be with our son. The hotel' s position is good, underground Gard d est and Chateau d eau. The street is quiet police next door. The main road round the corner is busy with restaurants, shops mini markets, etc. Buses are regular, but we walked from Hotel to The centre of Paris in 45 mins. The hotel says one star and we did pay for that rating without breakfast. We wanted somewhere to sleep shower and watch tv. We were lucky that our room 11 was second floor. There is no lift. My husband suffered and struggled going up the stairs. It is not a hotel for the faint hearted. As I had read a reviews regarding the room key, which is still used as the physical key, we decided not to leave the key at reception. The night porter asked us why? We told him that we do not trust the situation, that anyone can walk into reception, sees the key hanging, take it and have access to our room! He said but I am here! I said so you never need to go to the loo or go into your office? Yes he said I do. We said that is why. Anyway we did it our way. This is more of a hostel than a hotel. It is very basic. Furniture minimal in bedroom. Tv small but flat screen and thank heaven it had usb as I was sick and had to be in bed all day. I had loads of films with me as I do not follow French Tv. The bathroom is old, with metal rusty tubes but we had a good basin for the shower, sink and toilet with a broken push button to flush. We didn't moan about the flushing as long as it worked. The most disappointing aspect was 1 socket outlet! Really at this time and age. We have three tablets, four mobile phones and I needed to plug my vortex. So first thing I ran to a shop and bought a three meter extension with multiple plugs. We never had breakfast there and we boiled our own water. On the whole apart from the stairs, one socket, broken flushing, the key, we had good value for money. The sheets were always clean and very white. We were afraid of bed bugs, but there were none as my husband seems to have the sweet blood and had attracted them in a few hotel in Paris. Paris is famous for them. One star ' in the sky' hotel is fine for us, but we will not return.
Horrible
Old hotel, no lift, small rooms, small bathroom, not well maintained, horrible Location, staff not friendly nor do they try and communicate in English. Checked in to this hotel and checked out on the same day as it was horrible. Had to lug our luggage up 4 flights of stairs as they have no lift, the hotel smelt, and felt like it was a very unsafe area and hotel. Far away from attractions. Save your money and go elsewhere like we did
