Clean, nice rooms, great location. Disappointing service
Pros: Nice hotel, very clean rooms, has an elevator. We got it for a very good price (around $80 per night in feb for 2 people so just over $40 per person). At the price we got it it was the best deal in Paris for us. Other places that were cheaper were in worse locations. I like the location. It's not super central, but the average time to most destinations is around 15-25 minutes, which is great. It is also quite safe as far as we know, and we never got any bad vibes when walking from the metro at night (2 girls alone). I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel/area if I was traveling alone. In fact the area seems even safer than some central parts around/north of the louvre. We did not have to wait too long for elevator which is great in Paris (usually buildings have a small and slow elevator) Neutral: The breakfast was very "ok". If it costs extra don't get it. It tasted very bland. There is plenty of delicious and more filling breakfast food in Paris. Just buy something overnight if you want a quick snack in the morning. Cons: The check in process left a sour impression. We arrived earlier, and our room was not ready. Reception gave a call to housekeeping and asked for our room to be done. We went to the grocery then sat in the lobby waiting for 2.5 hours. I asked a couple of time but they said the room was not ready. Why tell us that they are getting the room done if they are not? If they told us straight away that they wont have the room done until check in time (2 pm) we would have left and had a nice lunch. Instead we sat on uncomfortable lobby couches tired from an overnight flight. Finally the check in time came and they still did not have a room! They asked us to wait again but I put my foot down. So eventually they changed our room to another empty room. Why not do so straight away? Then in the middle of our stay we had some issues with housekeeping. I usually never want my room cleaned during my stay as I don't want to clean away my stuff, so I put the "no cleaning please" sign up. The second day it was ignored, our stuff thrown on the floor from the beds (in order to make them) and other dirty stuff put on top of our clean dinner plates on the table. How is this cleaning? After this we put away our stuff, but our sign was rudely ignored multiple times. The final time they came into the room to "clean" and left us no towels. The lobby staff was also unpleasant to us but it is our fault. We asked if a mini fridge was available, and they said no but offered us to use their fridge (which was offered to me multiple times in other small hotels no problem no attitude). Then the staff was salty every time we asked if we could get our stuff from the fridge. It became a huge chore going down to get food as we would have to deal with attitude, and we tried to do this only 1-2 times a day. I can understand that we were being a hassle so I don't hold this against them. But overall all thing considered the service was subpar.
passing through
All was well in place, clean and tidy. We were informed that, for security reasons and after working hours, someone would open the front door. They failed to mention that the staff on duty had other duties calling him away from his desk. This resulted in us and other clients to wait outside for 15 whole minutes! Lucky for us, it was neither cold nor raining!!!!!
More than satisfied
Easy to get to from CDG airport and only a 5 minute walk from Denfert-Rochereau station. Metro service around Paris is also excellent from this location and there are plenty of cafes, bars and shops nearby. Room was small but perfectly adequate for our 3 night stay. Cleanliness of the room was 1st class and breakfast was very decent too. All in all for what we paid my wife and I were pleased. Would recommend for travellers on a smaller budget who are just want somewhere to sleep for a few nights.
Good location
Campanile Montparnasse has a really good location, near to Montparnasse Station and Metro lines. Room was small, but very clean. Bed was so comfortable and space enough. Breakfast was nothing special, but tasty. Good value for money.
Campanile Paris hotel
Had a good experience staying in this hotel for 3 nights with my boyfriend. Had no problems here at all, check-in and check-out was very easy and the rooms very nice and spacious. It was in a good location too with plenty of places to get food.
