Cancelled via Expedia waiting for a refund six months later
I had booked a trip to Paris through EXPEDIA in January for May of this year. After Delta cancelled all of my flights, I caved in and cancelled the hotel. The webpage said that a refund was due and that I would her soon. I received no response from EXPEDIA until I tried the webchat on their site. I was told that I was due a refund and it would take 2 -3 billing cycles. In August, after no response from EXPEDIA, I reached out via twitter. The agent told me I was only due a credit and I would see it in 30 days. It is now Sept. 18th and no credit, no response from EXPEDIA. I just spoke to agent Roberto, who now tells me there is a penalty and he will call the hotel in Paris and see if the manager will wave it. As of today, the webpage that shows my cancelled trip, now says no refund is owed. Why after so many months is there now a penalty and no refund? Has anyone else successfully got a trip refunded or credit. It was a non-refundable reservation, but when the whole damn world shuts down, I expected some leeway. I had no way of getting to France since the flights were cancelled. I didn't want the booking to expire when I didn't show up, so I cancelled it. Even Delta refunded my flights that were non-refundable. Lesson learned, avoid EXPEDIA at all costs Hôtel Vacances Bleues Provinces Opéra will keep your money.
Solo travel and paris
it was my first solo travel to europe and exactly to paris, nice hotel very good location and clean rooms accepted size rooms and lovely staff welcome and check out was very good with good services, breakfast was simple and delicious
Very good stay in comfortable room
We had a great stay in a comfortable room. We were welcomed by a freindly staff an they were very helpfull in giving travel tips and advise. The modern interior in the room was nice and comfortable, the bathroom was not very large but had a good shower. The breakfast had enough choice
Clean quiet hotel with friendly staff
Such a shame about the bad reviews about this hotel as our experience was great. When we arrived, the member of staff on the desk was very friendly and spoke perfect English, and even though we arrived a few hours early we were allowed to check in early. The 'comfort double room' was small however comfortable as suggested by the name. Most importantly it was a decent price for the time of year and location (about 250 squids for 3 night). Perfect if you are not planning on spending much time in the room during the day! It was also clean, had a comfy bed and a powerful shower...lovely stuff! 😊 Can't comment on the restaurant/breakfast as we never tried it due to other controversial reviews. However, there are plenty of cafés and bakeries on the street and in the area and this is probably the more affordable option. The location was great, being close to many restaurants, multiple metro stations as well as the Gare Du Nord train/metro station which was very handy for the transfer to/from the airport. Overall this was an ideal hotel for a few nights while spending most of the day out and about, with good location, good Wi-Fi, clean rooms and friendly staff. If anything were to be improved, I would have loved tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Super hotel!
yes yes please do stay here! It' s a great hotel and at a perfect location! It's quite central and close to many good places to eat, There are 3 exceptionally good places to eat and thay all no more that 3 minutes away on foot! Super service, reception staff were ever so polite and helpful, rooms were exactly like what we expected , breakfast was amazing and the choice completely satisfying. Time of breakfast was fantastic as it was quite early so you manged to get out and seize the day! We experinced a problem with the heating in our room. It was super cold and the radiators didn't work. When it was mentioned to reception it was looked into immidiately. However, we still had a problem but the second time it was mentioned we were immidately given another room (just as big) that had fully functional radiators and was nice and warm. Staff were apoliogetic and very helpful, you can also leave your bags there for however long after check out if you wish to have a little wander around before leaving Paris! Great place, amazing service and fantastic breakfast!
