No frills, economical room near Gare du nord and l’est
Reviewed 20 july, 2022
The hotel is very dated and located on a street with similarly dated hotels. I found the bed linen to be on the older side. The old age and wear may give a misleading dirty impression. Otherwise the room was clean. Bathroom was functional. Breakfast served was coffee, oj, croissant, and baguette. No frills, economical place to stay for one night near Gare du nord and de l’est.

Don't go near it with a barge pole!

We were in the hotel for maybe an hour, that was more than enough. The best thing about it was the receptionist who was delightful, helpful and friendly. Beyond that... 1. Rooms weren't clean - finger marks/dirt on the door and round the light switch, dirt on the walls where people had rubbed against them (noty surprising the gap between wall and bed was about 8" if that). 2. The shower had mould growing round it 3. Toilet had been squirted with cleaning fluid but not scrubbed so there were marks from previous use. 4. There was no carpet and the lino was stained and marked and didn't look very clean. 5. TV had finger marks all over the screen 6. There's no fire alarm system that we could tell and no fire escape other than the main stairs 7. Somebody was smoking what in the UK is an illegal substance next to my son's room and no smoke alarm went off 8. The banister on the stairs was a) sticky b) wobbly 9. Lighting throughout was very poor 10. Noise travelled easily 11. The doors didn't feel like they would be able to keep anyone out if they wanted to get in so the room wasn't secure We stayed just long enough to use the wi-fi to book another hotel before we checked out. Lost the first night booking fee, but that was better than staying.

Sleep and tour hotel, wonderful staff
Reviewed 23 march, 2022
This is a sleep and leave hotel. It’s location is brilliant for metro hopping and walking distance for most things but be aware it’s in the middle of an African area which is very male dominated however we personally didn’t find this intimating and we were with our 11yr old son. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included and it was again very good. However hotel is very run down, we were on floor 4 up a spiral stair case. Limited soundproofing between rooms and floors, really needs a redecoration but we were only sleeping there so this is why I have given it the score. Good points - friendly staff, great location to transport, good price, 24hr reception. Poor points - very run down, no lift, area could put people off.

Our favourite Paris hotel
Reviewed 5 january, 2019
We (married couple, both 80 this year) as often as we come to Paris. $ times in 2018 Jarry suits us perfectly. Rooms are smallish, but are exceptionally clean, Showers work superbly well. The staff are excellent, helpful, and friendly. There are slight drawbacks, there is a narrow spiral staircase ( a problem of the old Paris architecture) but the staff have always been willing to help with bags. There is also the ability to deposit baggage. We have arrived both early and late and have always been well looked after. The street is almost always very quiet, but either end takes you into different worlds. Turn left from Jarry and you are in Africa turn right your are in the middle east. Wonderfully cosmopolitan and very safe. Just ove this hotel, its staff and the neighbourhood Also I must say that Hotel Jarry is remarkably affordable
