Family loved it!

Reviewed 3 january, 2022

Our three generations family of six had a wonderful experience at the Moxy Paris Bastille. The staff were helpful and friendly. As a family, we enjoyed hanging out in the lobby after a packed filled sight seeing day. The kids were able to unwind with games and quickly felt like the Moxy was “home”. We loved the location. We were close to the open air market, grocery stores, excellent bakery, and buses which we rode all over Paris.

Clean, simple and well located!

For a Moxy this is great - the location is the strongest part being so close to the metro and walking distance from so many great areas. It's also near to a super fun running route either along the canal or on an old abandoned railway track above the city in Bastille. The rooms were clean, well maintained and had everything you needed, although of course very small - but to be expected with the price! Staff were always friendly and you could borrow umbrellas which was awesome with the terrible weather!

Not worth it

Reviewed 25 november, 2021

If there's one thing I don't like, it's being told that my room isn't ready unless I'm willing to forego an upgrade. That's exactly what happened here, and while I might have some understanding if it had been 11:00 in the morning, it was just before 14:00 when I arrived. The upshot was that I got what I suppose I'd reserved, though I can't say I remember pictures showing anything so tiny. The foot of the bed was so close to the wall that the only way to get to the other side of the bed was by climbing directly over it. There was no standing comfortably in the shower, sandwiched between the wall and the soap dispenser. And I counted only two electrical outlets in the room, one of them on the far side of the bed. As a lifetime platinum elite member of Marriott Rewards, I faced the choice between a lousy 500 points or a free breakfast. But it wasn't a hard choice; despite wanting to convey the impression of being modern and "hip", this Moxy, like others, assigns animal products an important role at breakfast. Indeed, the only warm dishes here were animal products, backed up by cheap luncheon meats and cheeses. I took the points. This is not a hotel I'd look forward to staying in again for any amount, let alone just shy of 150€.

Quite please!

I knew the rooms were going to be small and was pleased that my room (Queen) wasn't as small as I'd been concerned it might be. As others have suggested, I requested a higher floor room when I booked the room and received one on the top floor. The bed was very comfortable and the room very clean. I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member and received 20% off my 6 night stay which was great. I had breakfast there a few times and was able to pick a quick coffee/croissant breakfast or a more substantial one. I had a little snack at night when my friend and I decided not to eat dinner out and I liked their menu options. The neighborhood is great with Metro stations a quick walk away, very close to Place de la Bastille and a short walk over the Seine to the Left Bank. I'll definitely stay there again

It is a budget hotel

Reviewed 7 november, 2021

It is a budget hotel. Don’t expect Marriott service. Rooms are very small. Like Ibis Hotels. Be aware you cannot work in your room; no proper desk, no chair. Location is good for Paris visits. Nu sure if we will be back here for a next stay in Paris.
