Great Staff, Restaurant and Location

Reviewed 21 march, 2022

This is our second time at Mansion Iturbe. There is free and secure parking 2 blocks away. Thanks to the perfect location on the main plaza, the need for a car is minimal. Staff are excellent. The historical aspect of the hotel is not to be missed. The rooms are ultra-quiet with thick walls and yet modern conveniences. And the Dona Paca restaurant has great food and again attentive, professional staff. The plaza is literally 30 meters (100 feet) away, It is beautiful, clean, safe and full of life. There you will find traditional dancers; music, food vendors, people walking their dogs, children, families and others. Laughter and music fill the air and yet it is not noisy. It is a place to see beauty and joy and traditional life in Mexico. Two blocks away is a huge market. As well, Patzcuaro is situated on a large lake. Take a drive or hire a driver to take you around the lake and visit the shops selling Mexican crafts and art. Nearby are towns specializing in copper ware.

Change Not Always The Best

Hotel Mansion Iturbe has been our favorite accommodation in Patzcuaro for years. The full breakfasts included in the room rate at their restaurant were something we looked forward to. However, they have closed the restaurant and converted it into a Dominos Pizza joint. We also enjoyed the evening happy hour - also included in the room rate. They no longer have a happy hour either. The room was fine but by eliminating the breakfasts and happy hour while not reducing the room rate, we will not return.

Absolutely gorgeous

There's not enough i can say about how wonderful Hotel Mansion Iturbe is. The rooms are wonderful, with old world ambience, but lots of comfort. The staff is outstanding. Lety, who is the hotel manager could not be more lovely, and the front desk staff too is also the same. The patio dining is charming, and the people who wait on you there, Jose and Rolando and Rosario are just darling. Thank you for making our stay so very memorable!!

The best!

The beautiful architecture, the well designed interior, the comfortable pretty room, the balcony to watch people walk by, the delicious breakfast made our time in Pátzcuaro very fun. But the most important- the staff was first rate- Lety at the front desk, bellboy who helped with luggage and the hardworking waiter for breakfast on the patio. We will absolutely return.

Very nice stay!

We chose this hotel on our first post Covid vaccine trip and we couldn't have been happier. As others have noted, despite being a colonial era structure, it is kept in great condition and it is a beautiful hotel in the colonial style. We had a room looking out onto the main square and it was a delight to enjoy the views of the town activity from our balcony. The room was large and comfortable with all the amenities you could wish for. We never did figure how to work the cable box but Netflix was on the SmartTV and worked very well. There were a lot of step-ups and step-downs in our room and while that was not a problem for us, it is something to be aware of. The location is perfect, within walking distance of everything including many great restaurants and coffee shops. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
