Centrally located, no frills
This hotel is located close to all the major sights and plazas of Patzcuaro, so no car is needed to get around. Parking is advertised as an amenity, but it is a few blocks away in a public parking. To load and unload your luggage, you can simply stop on the street - this is Mexico and people do understand. The rooms are simple and clean, the showers hot. WiFi does not work very well in the rooms as the router is only in the reception area. There are no heaters in the room, but you can ask for an extra blanket. I would not want to stay during the cold season, though, as blankets only go so far and the town is at 7,000 feet. The hotel provides a bottle of water, but there is no coffee maker in the room. For coffee/tee/hot chocolate, you need to go across the street to a cafe or down the street to an Oxxo. If you are looking for a clean, no frills hotel, this is it. Lastly - the reception personnel is very friendly, but you need to know Spanish, as no English is spoken.
Great value for price
The hotel is very comfortable, doesnt have a restaurant but not a problem at all as its right in the center of patzcuaro. Our bedroom was very comfortable, just that WiFi was not strong enough but solved by spending a few minutes at reception area. Totally recommended
Nice Hotel in Center of Toen
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Refugio Del Angel and found the place to be both convenient and comfortable. Clean, nice rooms, great shower w/ abundant hot water, and friendly helpful staff. Free parking was available in a protected lot a few blocks away. This hotel is located in the center of town, near the public market and good restaurants. Free breakfast was a real bonus, cooked to order, and featured numerous selections. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we return to Patzcuaro!
Great Location, VERY Helpful Staff
This hotel is very well located to everything in Patzcuaro. The accommodations were very clean, perfect for a short stay. Free parking is included just a few blocks away. The staff was very helpful especially when we had an issue with our rental car, the manager came to my rescue assisting in getting someone to help me as the car wouldn't start, she stayed with me for the 2 hours it took to rectify the problem, helped me to communicate with the mechanic as my Spanish is limited. Lovely old hotel, highly recommend staying here you won't be disappointed.
Beautiful accommodation, great location, friendly staff
The location of this little refugio is perfect. Close to both the Grand Plaza and Plaza Chica where the restaurants, bars and market is. The staff are really polite, helpful and friendly. The room was huge with a fab bed and luxury bathroom. Can't fault this place at all. Highly recommend.
