Avocados Accommodation

Wrost place on planet earth to stay got absolutely ripped off paid $165 for one night stayed in room 15 Valentine’s Day 2020. Please do not go there spend your money somewhere else. Accommodation not good

We stayed at Avocados for 3 nights while in town for a wedding. We were extremely disappointed with all aspects of the accomodation. As a side note, the restaurant and bar is fantastic Below is a list of the problems we found and my recommendation would be to avoid this accomodation until they refresh the rooms and lift the cleanliness to an acceptable level 1. Bunk Bed had a faulty ladder that if used would potentially be very dangerous. 2. All curtains were old and seemed to be wearing away. 3. The bathroom was extremely dirty 4. The back door to the apartment was unable to be locked 5. The air conditioner didn’t work well at all (we had 2 days of 39degrees) 6. The bedding was dirty and clearly had not been washed 7. Even though we were told there were wire doors, there was not. 8. Limited crockery and cutlery. Ie 1 spoon only. 9. Only place to plug in appliances was next to the sink. Extremely dangerous. 10. Empty alcohol cans and cigarette butts In garden 11. Front light didn’t work. 12. Holes in the walls We know of some other people that were planning to stay in the near future and we have suggested they change there plans

Staff friendly, nice location, indoor /outdoor seating. Bar with reasonable prices. Offers meals , more pub style food. Lots of choices of alcohol. Order at the bar and food delivered to your table. Good service could be a lot quicker would be the only fault.

Invited to join friends for lunch we had not heard of this place prior to our visit and boy were we pleasantly surprised. The menu was comprehensive, with a great selection and very realistic pricing for both food and drinks. As a member of our party could not have a certain ingredients and the staff went out of their way to ensure that we knew exactly what dishes would be suitable. This was done in a very friendly thorough manner showing it was no bother at all and very much appreciated. The food was sensational. Certainly will be returning, our local restaurants in the Swan Valley could certainly learn about good service from this place.

We stayed here last weekend. We had been onsold by the service we had booked into and had checked with the so called accommodation manager ( the owners son) that we would be able to check in on out late arrival. When we arrived no one was there and the restaurant owner who knew nothing about us, but he was very helpful. The 3 rooms we had were awful. Our room had several patched holes in the door and a shower that overflowed all over the bathroom floor, the towels provided were frayed and not fit for use. One of the other rooms did not have a soap holder or toilet roll holder in the bathroom and the other room has no door seal so all rain came in. All rooms were dirty. When we tried to discuss this with the owner and his son they took no responsibility and when one guest questioned the room cost for additional time he was abused and sworn at by the management. They were absolutely appalled that we gave this feedback and made no effort to acknowledge or fix any of our concerns. Their response was to place a toilet role on top of the toilet brush in the room with no toilet roll holder.After this treatment we felt we had no alternative than to find other accommodation and when handing back the keys to the owner he offered no apology or refund for the time we did not stay.
