What's not to like
From the easy check-in to the easy check-out, this resort was first class. We stayed a week in the most charming accommodations. We were about 50 feet from the ocean and could hear the surf every minute. Gizmo, the snack bar, was more than adequate. They offered full meals like fish and chips, loaded nachos, etc. Wonderful. The swimming pools...there were 3 plus a hot tub...gave spectacular views of the sea. Tons of seating both at the pool and on the beach. The entertainment at Gizmo's was OK, nothing special. There were Bingo and Trivia. Can't say enough good things about this resort. We'll be back soon.
Best service ever!
My parents are staying there and we set up a private surprise birthday dinner for our mother and father. Sandra, a manager there, took such detail and care with setting everything up and making it the most special dinner for them! Not only was the food delicious and the service very attentive but my parents felt like celebrities. Could not have been happier and appreciative!!!
Mother Daughter Trip
First off I must say my 77 year old mother and I generally enjoyed our stay at Divi. We opted for the all inclusive option just for ease. We didn’t eat or drink much so next time I might pass on it as it is kind of pricey compared to similar AI resorts elsewhere. On the positive side almost every staff person is out of the way friendly and helpful. This is especially true of the golf cart drivers who genuinely cared about my mother and I. They were courteous, friendly and funny. A joy to be around. The other guests at the resort were very personable. Everyone talked and socializing with everyone. This made for a very social setting which was fun. Many are time share owners and older which was perfect for my mom and I. There were some families as well and a few younger couples. The manager seemed to always be around and engaging with visitors. The manager reception was really fun. Live music every night was also a plus. And fun games like crab races and other pool & bar games. The food was average. Not bad not great. The bar staff were the least friendly. One or two not even smiling when serving. The pools are lovely. Felt the pool bars could have opened a bit earlier though. The beach was rough. Very rough actually. Much more than I was expecting. Might have just been the weather as pictures show a mostly calm beach. This was not the case while we were there. The beach loungers are plentiful and beach wait staff attentive. My negatives lie in our unit we were in. I asked for a unit central to everything because of my senior mother. I guess we got one sort of central but still far enough where we elected to golf cart most of the time down to main area and restaurants. The biggest complaint would be that our unit (1 bedroom) had a very strong musty moldy smell. I travel quit a bit and know that island rooms get musty and damp, but this was the worst I’ve smelled. I will say I didn’t bother to report it or request a room change though because I didn’t want to disrupt my mother with having to repack and move. The smell was strong our entire 5 nights. There were also very tiny ants in our kitchen. We had a pick of muffins on the counter and in the morning the bag was covered with these tiny ants. The Divi is a solid bet on St. Martin and nicely positioned if you want to stay on the Dutch side. We spent a lot of time on the French side and driving back and forth took much longer than I thought it would. So, next time I might choose to stay on the French side.
St Maarten Divi Resorts Little Bay
Had a wonderful time , food was excellent but the people were so warm and friendly, Marcia and Wendy really made our stay memorable.room had a great view out into little bay, snorkeling was fabulous with many different colored fish, toured island and had a very good tour guide who knew all the great spots for tourists like us
Can’t wait to go back!
Everyone went out of their way to make our stay the best it could be. Resort not @ full capacity but they couldn’t do enough for us. Best beach on the island 50’ from our room. Treated like royalty. Been going here for 15+ years, staff are like family.
