We stayed here for our yearly anniversary vacation we always pick a local luxury resort to have some quiet time with each other away from our kids. We chose this location because as active Marriott Bonvoy members we thought we would give this resort a try as we have never been here. We loved the property and the amenities but as we were attending the spa we had our “do not disturb sign” on our room and someone entered our room with a hotel key and stole many valuables out of our room. We reported it to the front security they made it feel not very important which I don’t take lightly. We still haven’t heard anything back from them and they didn’t even reach out to try and offer any discounts or anything to help us feel better about what we experienced. Honestly I was freaked out to stay in our room thinking there is someone just going in rooms while people are gone and taking things. We are avid travelers and stay at nice resorts to have an exceptional experience and try to avoid this kind of thing. I will 100% not return here or recommend this property to anyone as they obviously don’t know what kind of people they are hiring or have security to figure these things out.

I just attended a large 1900 person conference at this hotel. The resort was full staffed with very friendly people. Check in and check out was swift and professional. The F&B for the events was 5 star, The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. 2 championship golf courses. The only negative is my room was slighly dated. I would definatley come back on my own to this resort.
Definitely not the same

Let me start the review by saying…. Stay at the Princess and not the JW! Minimal amenities, very few food options and poor customer service. Breakfast is grab and go only, with no pool service until 11 and closing at 5 or 6 depending on the day.
Covid is real, but most resorts and companies don’t continue to use this an excuse for poor customer service and lack of amenities. The JW uses this as an excuse over and over.
Want to go to the lazy river? There are more deflated tubes thrown in an ugly pile than tubes available to guests. We saw more than one disagreement about who had the right to a tube.
For the same price you can stay at the Princess. Better location, multiple pools, cleaner, WAY better food, AMAZING service and no lack of amenities. I now remember why we switched for our monthly staycation and won’t be coming back.
The JW Griffin Club Experience – Exceeded Expectations

We had the pleasure of the Griffin Club experience during our 4 night stay September 3-7. Having never experienced the Griffin Club prior, we had no idea what to expect. Our expectations were far exceeded and would not hesitate to return. The club is open daily from 7am – 9pm starting with chef prepared breakfast, Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas. Midday lunch with beer and wine, hosted premium bar later afternoon with Hors d’oeuvres, followed by the chef station, concluding with Dessert sampling. At any time, soda, bottled water, tea/coffee, snacks, candy station, and Griffin Club cookies are available.
The highlight is the staff. Exceptional service that wasn’t forced, but genuine personal interest and caring for each guest. We must recognize Pat. What a pleasure it was to be in her company. She goes above and beyond to make sure you have what you need, and you’re enjoying your stay. And if you’re not satisfied, she will make it right. Her customer service should be modeled. She sets the bar high. Thank you, Pat.
We look forward to returning.
Great Resort Stay

I’ve been coming here for 15+ years and it’s our go-to place in Arizona for a great resort stay. The property is showing its age a bit, but it’s still a nice property. The pools are clean and varied (though they converted the best pool to an extra fee area). Meritage is a great placed for dine - special shout out to Connor at the bar, who provides exceptional service. The other restaurants are great, as well.
It’s a great place for golf - 36 wonderful holes - lots of fun to play. The staff at the golf course are first-rate at making you feel at home and getting you out on the course. Special “thank you” to Justin, who is a great representative of the Marriott brand. I’ll definitely return.
