Almost perfect experience

We stayed during the labor day weekend and were in for a surprise since there was an anime convention and the hotel was hosting some of the events. I have to admit it admirable of how they handled it while it was so crowded. The only issue we had was with housekeeping. I understand the covid and everything else, however it was when the convention left. The housekeeping is done every other day, which way more than in some other hotels, however when they got to our room at 5:30pm and mind you at this point the hotel was already empty, this was the worst time. We spent the whole day out and about and came into the room to shower and change after the 106 degrees weather and the pool to get ready for our dinner. So we asked them to come back in no more than 30 minutes and were actually out of the room in 15. Guess what, they never came back. While I understand that we could have requested extra housekeeping through the app, but when we got back after dinner was kind of late. All the other staff that we interacted with at the hotel were super friendly and nice.
Great downtown hotel

Staff were helpful. Room was clean. Restaurant not open. As Marriott rewards member disappointed the concierge room not open. Staff helpful in recommending local restaurants. Easy walking to Convention Center as that was our reason for being there.

We stayed here five days and have nothing but positive things to say about this hotel and the staff, from everyone to those who worked at the bar to the valet attendants. Now, we are still in a pandemic, so staff may be smaller and some services may not be quite there due to Covid. But, we've been traveling all summer and get that!!! Only the bar was open for food, but we enjoyed the selection and open seating. The bar and lobby are airy and spacious. They have a little mini-mart right off the bar if you want to stock up on treats. Our room was clean and very quiet. The beds were comfy. The shower was hot, hot, hot...but I like a hot shower. Turn the knob on half-way and then it won't be so hot. If you have business, a seminar, or dorm check-in at The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, this hotel is literally right out the back door. It takes 10 seconds to get to Taylor Place and the ASU law school. Right across the street is also a mall and AMC theater. Now, there was a baseball game and football game while we were here. They really beefed up security. Sometimes, too much security can make guests feel uncomfortable. I would just be careful of that. When you're hanging in the lobby, you want to relax. You don't want security or the police hoovering over you. The price might be higher than other hotels (we paid about $250/night and valet is $36/night), but you're paying for the convenience. I liked that we could walk to where we needed to go. Last, the upper-floor rooms have beautiful views. I highly recommend this hotel.
