A perfectly month in Phuket
Great location !! One of the best sea-view resort that only 10 mins from/to the city. This is the best thing that you are looking for when you wanna join the sea and the city on your vacation. Peaceful and shady ! Woke up with the sea and plenty of trees, beautiful garden decoration. So naturopathy. Nice restuarant and bar, romantic beanbag & table on the beach with BBQ in camping style. With sunset !! Watching sunset everyday in the pool is the magic moment of the day Ps. Dont forget to do kayak and paddle board in the bay and take photo with that mangroves in the background. We’ll get a good content for your social media :)
Lovely hotel for a quiet getaway.
We booked in to this hotel for 4 nights but due to Covid our airline moved our flights so we only ended up with one night. Quite pleased we did as they shut the pool (apparently due to Covid but surely it is chlorinated) and poor A/C in the room although once I reported it they did improve it. Rooms were good and comfortble. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Only issue really was location, nearest shop is 20min walk along a busy road with no pavement. The private beach is not suitable for swimming. This place is perfect if you looking for a nice hideaway but is remote if you looking to be out and about everyday. Food was good quality and they do some good happy hour offers.
Nothing more to ask for
This place is a perfect getaway, especially if, like me, you are planning to travel about. I have arrived in Panwa after a week in Bangkok and boy, was it a change of pace. There is just something magical about it that makes you want to slow down and take it all in. Located in the southern part of the island, it's close enough to get to town by taxi and yet far away from all of its noise. Just bear in mind, taxis in Phuket are way more expensive compared to Bangkok, although people might not want to scam you as much. Don't know islanders' attitude just seems to be a bit different towards us, naive tourists :) I was staying in the Ocean View Villa with a jacuzzi located next to the porch. I loved that place and wanted to spend every minute of my stay sitting on those chairs and enjoying the view! The beds were comfortable, interior very pleasing and relaxing. The room was well air-conditioned, there was always somebody to tidy up and bring coffee, as well as leave small gifts (I got water guns during Songkran!). There was a TV on the wall, but it would have been silly of me to turn it on. Even though it's a very quiet place, it's not really. You need to love nature and not be squeamish - there is always a random lizard staring at you from your room ceiling or different kinds of birds sitting on the roof and nearby trees. When walking around you need to be careful to not stomp on some random frogs (toads? What, I'm not a biologist) just hopping about. They are not dangerous, don't you worry! It's just if you're coming from the west as I did, you need to adjust to a different environment. There is a small beach just by the resort and even though it's not the best place to go sunbathing, there are chairs just a minute away from it (right by the pool). Instead, you can watch marching crabs or rent one of the available canoes for free (in April, the tide was getting low by 1 pm, make sure to not get stranded out there). There is a free breakfast that combines the best of continental and domestic dishes (hello, noodles in the morning!) and the dinner menu always offers something new so you won't get bored. Oh, and don't you forget about those happy hours with 2-for-1 cocktails! They are 199 BHT (approx. £5), steal! People are always lovely, but that's something you will get used to in Thailand in general. From my experience, the weather in Phuket can get very temperamental. I was staying there during the second week of April and it was very humid, very hot and...very stormy. Only during the night, though. If you encounter such weather and are a bit on the silly side, try swimming in the lit-up pool during the rain - unforgettable. Of course, I do not encourage it in any way as I don't believe it's permitted ;) There is a bicycle/scooter rental by the reception (bicycles are free) and I do recommend renting them to travel about. I'd suggest the latter, though. I have taken a bicycle to travel even further down south and let me tell you, it wasn't a pretty sight on the way back ( of me, not the general view). Overall, it's an amazing value for money and worth every penny. I don't believe this short review gives it justice, you need to try it out for yourself! I realise that at the time of this review it's not the best moment to travel, but hey - it's all going to get better soon and you want to make sure you get yourself a spot at The Mangrove Panwa Resort.
Peaceful Stay 😊
Lovely and peaceful resort, surrounded by greenery. 🌲🌳🌴🌸🌺🍂 Our cosy room is clean and tidy, really appreciated! We love our bed in the room, such a comfortable bed! Relaxing pool and good breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay!
NO BEACH ATTENTION
We are beach people so totally missed this choice of holiday-we red in comments amazing beach, private...its miss leading!!! No beach at all for swimming. As per picture. Rooms are ok, quite spacious with nice view. We had a room with 3 little windows next to our bed which were overlooking stairs-the light was on 24/7!, no blinders. We found some birds... on our pillows, but we cannot blame the hotel. Breakfast:very basic, fruit selection limited for pineapple, watter melon and sometimes little bananas. The best was the thai food. Bread-white toast, some little croissants. Lot of items were missing and not replaced:butter for example. We tried happy hour for some cocktails which we have been wrongly charged. As we mentioned this to the waiter, she was not pleased with us anymore! She was upset and did not apologize. Reception was nice, tried to help with anything they could. We rent motorbikes. The beach is about 3km from the hotel. I do recommend this place for people who like to stay jnt he resort and do not look for a beach holiday.
