Good value, staff was attentive

You are not in a tourist area in Pinar del Rio, so it's important to manage expectations. The location of this hotel is good--outside of the hustle and bustle of the city, where it can get busy. The scenery from the rooms was lovely and the grounds are vast with nice pathways. I found the walkways to the rooms with the large wooden doors to be charming. The rooms are basic but clean. I was just relieved to finally have a place with toilet paper and toilet seats. We left a small tip for the staff on our first night and were treated like royalty. We received extra towels and soaps and a sweet note. We enjoyed the lounge area off the lobby for drinks and wandered down to the pool area where they had another lounge and live entertainment. It was a lovely evening and the drinks were reasonable and strong :). We did not swim so I can not comment on the pool. We did make the mistake of dining at the free breakfast in their restaraunt one morning. I do not recommend the restaraunt. The food is..not great, the juice was very disappointng for a tropical region and after one couple left, I saw the waiter come over, clear the plates, brush the table off and then refold the cloth napkins and leave them on the table for the next people. After that I asked for paper napkins :) There are some lovely places to grab coffee and breakfast within 10 minutes of walking, that I far preferred. The rooms were much cleaner than the restaurant. All in all--we were in the area to visit family and this hotel provided us with a quiet, inexpensive place to stay.

enjoyed my stay for a week at third floor with good food served at the restaurant.

in the evenings, its easy to go outside and take a walk in the town. WIFI cards are sold at a dollar each which serves for about an hour or hour and a half. Also buses and taxi can be accessed to visit nearby restaurant and other parts of town. The people are very friendly and speaks spanish only.

Malo

Reviewed 1 january, 2022
