On arrival I was greeted by Heidi and Alexandria. They were having system issues but they handled everything so well. The room was very spacious, clean, comfortable and efficient. The complementary breakfast was a plus and they are just a heartbeat away from everything. They even extended a late checkout when my flight got pushed back. I will definitely be returning.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

NEVER staying with them again. Getting them to respond back to a $700 mistake they did was a monumental effort and never happened. long story short... made the reservation through Booking.com; Sonesta was not supposed to charge us the ~$700+, which they did... and after multiple calls/voice mails/ and an email... no response back... Luckily Booking.com took it upon them for the unresponsiveness of Sonesta and was kind enough to refund us the money, but the 10+ calls, the couple of voice mails to their managers and an email with zero response from Sonesta shows their lack of customer service.

Very rude staff along with unappealing building. Avoid. Who in the heck gave this place 4 stars? Expedia? Who rated this place No 1. in Plantation. I won't be back. Sonesta used to be a good place, in general.

Awful experience. Cancelled reservation with no notice, leaving us stranded outside at 3am

I hate to leave bad reviews, but we had an awful experience with this hotel. Our flight was delayed by approx. 5 hours so I messaged the hotel to confirm that our check-in time would be later than expected. When we arrived, the concierge told us that the room had been cancelled because they tried to run the credit card and it bounced (this was not true). They told us that they had sent an email earlier that evening, but this was similarly untrue (and we didn't receive a cancellation notice or email until the next day, at which point the reason for cancellation had changed to say that the hotel was full). This conversation went on for over 30 mins and we were not allowed to enter the lobby, despite it being 3am in a foreign place and us needing to use wifi to find alternate accommodations. We were visibly upset and in a bad mental state, having been travelling for over 12 hours by this point, but the concierge still denied us access to the building. We ended up sitting in our hire car (thank goodness for that!) for 2 hours trying to find a hotel that had space and sadly missed one of the everglades excursions we had planned. Overall a really disappointing and upsetting experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Terrible Experience

I am making a complaint regarding my recent stay from Mar 07, 2022 - March 10, 2022. We always stay at Sonesta Plantation simply because of its location, amenities etc. especially since a special diet for my mom and we therefore have to cook her meals and at nights she have to make her tea etc. We checked into room 142 on Mar 07th but to our amazement the stove was not working and the microwave took extremely long to heat up items. I reported this immediately and the Assist general manager Stephen decided to comp that night and promised to have it looked into the following day. The following day the situation was still unresolved and I asked if we could be moved to another room on lower floor but they said none was available but we were still charged full price for a room that inconvenienced us. On Mar 08th, while we were parked on the property and taking our stuff out of our vehicle, we were attacked by a guest dog that got out of the room without the knowledge of its owner. One of the ladies was a heart patient at Cleveland Clinic and had just came from her appointment. She had to go back to the ER for further observation.. Thank Godness we did not got bitten but the fear of it had us shaken up. Another guest and his daughter came to our rescue and chased the dog away. I explained this to Stephen again, he went down the corridor and came back say he didnt see a dog. I told him it happened outside, he said they don't have any cameras outside the property and it s at your own risk.. This was sad but true. Again he did nothing. Not even an apology was offered! We extended the stay on the 3rd day and again nothing had changed and Stephen the asst General Manager seemed so nonchalant so I asked to speak with the General Manager who I could not speak with because he was never available. However, Stephen did mention that the GM was aware of all of the comlaints but he never even attemped to reach out to us or myself while at the property. While checking out on March 10th I again attempted to speak with the General Manager but he was still unavailable so I just left.
