Nice pool, good continental breakfast, not worth what I paid.
Our room was nice. The hotel was pretty clean. We enjoyed the pool but were disappointed that the jacuzzi was closed. Grab and go breakfast was adequate. The only real complaint was that the beds were very uncomfortable. I tossed and turned a lot. The elevator was not working.
Great customer service
Even though the elevator was out, the rest of the stay was very good. Clean, quiet, and even w/ COVID going on a decent grab and go selection for breakfast. Every staff member we met in the hallway was always greeting us w/ a friendly hello, asking us how our stay was and if we needed anything and thanking us for our stay. One man, who kept telling me he was a senior citizen as I helped him get his items down the stairs said he loved working there, his boss etc. Only saw a few instances w. staff not wearing masks but as soon as you came by would put them on.
Room smelled; staff without masks
We stayed overnight and checked in very late. The front desk staff was behind a barrier but did not wear a mask. There was no mask enforcement with guests even at breakfast. The room appeared clean yet smelled of stale smoke and body odor. Stay elsewhere.
No masks worn by employees
There is no visible sign about masks needing to be worn. We observed that every employee we saw (minimum 7) during 2 days there were wearing no masks. When asked why, we were told “it’s not required until Monday” 8/10, and “we’re keeping 6’ distance”. Both were untrue. In 3 separate incidents, 3 separate employees came out from behind the counter (small plexiglass area) and approached us within 1-2 feet to hand us items. There was no regard for distancing, and out of state travelers were not even asked to wear a mask, including when getting “to go” breakfast in a small, enclosed space. If we knew this we would have chosen a different place to stay.
Vacation
The best hotel in Plattsburg. The staff is the best and have had no problems. The only family hotel I would ever stay at in Plattsburg. The rooms were quiet and as I am allergic to animals they made sure I was far away and no animal had ever stayed in that room.This is about the tenth time I have stayed in La Quinta.
