More about the hotel
Hollow, noisy, bad wifi and bad showers.
Stayed four nights here an slept abour four hours per night, got tricked from fake rewievs on booking.com The hotel is open and hollow. Noises travel from the first floor up to the third. You hear EVERYTHING from the other rooms. The shower had almost no pressure and to get hot water you had to wait forever. The wifi was terrible, got disconnected all the time. Cleaning staff had a strange mentality, they thought it was ok to scream and shout in the hallways daily. Avoid this place.
An occupied room, a dangerous room, and a $670 charge
The first room I was shown to was still occupied. The second room had a broken bathroom door that made it inaccessible (both a safety hazard and a problem if we need to, well, use the bathroom or shower). The hotel did not have any more rooms for the tier I had reserved, so they said they would need to downgrade me. I asked for compensation to adjust for the new, lower room cost, and was told I'd still be paying for the more expensive room despite the downgrade. I asked for a refund, as the new room tier was unacceptable--especially if I would be paying for my original tier room. I was told there would be no refund. I left to find lodging elsewhere and disputed the credit card charge. The hotel is refusing to give my credit card company their money, and I am still on the hook for $670 despite never staying at Hotel 770. They cite their nonrefundable policy, but this does not matter if they are unable to provide the services you paid for. Save yourself the headache and the money, and avoid this hotel. I have been locked in this dispute for two months now, and have involved the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Poor management of personal information and rude staff
We stayed in casa 244, but the check in and check out is in hotel 770. It's the same owner and manager. To begin with, they don't care about customers and comments from their guests, because there are already a lot of complains about that. But the worst thing is about the customer service and the management of the credit card information. We provided the credit card information through booking, because we trust in the service. We paid by cash and when we did the check out, we wanted a probe that we paid because they don't use receipts. One girl in the reception showed us a paper with the payment details, so we took a picture, but on the back of the same paper they had all the information of the credit card, including the CVC code. We decided to put a black mark on the numbers and we said that it's not right that they print and keep that information on files, because it's risky. They said that they print that information from all the customers, because those personal and credit card information from the customers belongs to them. At the end we talked with the owner, at the beginning he was mad, so we explained our point of view and he understood, we hope.... So, be careful and avoid to talk with the rude and awful lady which is next to reception, she doesn't have any modals and respect, she is not even in charge of reception, she is just sitting there being rude with the guests.
Excellent
Great hotel, really good and helping staff. Location is good, it takes 5 minutes walk to get to the main street, and at the same time the hotel is distant for a quite night. The shower HUGE and the room is super clean, and the beds are Comfortable. The disadvantage is that the pool on the roof is pretty small and warm and there's no breakfast, although there's a nearby supermarket. Great value for the money, really recommended.
Great value for money.
Last Sunday I decided to go to Playa last minute so I booked this hotel Monday morning to check in on the afternoon. Check in was super fast, employees were all nice and friendly. Hotel looks pretty new, everything is in good condition. Pool is very small, didn't get in so I don't know how deep it is. Location is also good. Not so into city but also not too far from the quinta, I usually stay around this area. I had a flight back at midnight, room was so cheap that I just booked an extra night to use it during the day even I did not stay the night. Not the best hotel in Playa but definitely great for what you pay. I see some comments about hot water but we never had an issue with it. I wouldn't mind if there wasn't any, I don't really take hot showers when on a beach vacation. Would stay here again.
