More about the hotel
Very good for families
The family section is great for the kids. In the room they are sand toys, candies, even little ropes and slippers waiting for the kids. Rooms are clean (except curtains that were full of stains), bunk beds for the kids, mini bar refilled daily. On the site there is a kids buffet, food not good and mostly cold, but nice decor- fun for kids. Ice cream place and great playground. Beach is nice but not enough shade, and people pack like sardines. They are couple umbrellas but not enough for the amount of people. You probably have to wake up at 5’o clock to occupy the spot. The staff very friendly, check in easy and fast, everything very well organized. Just don’t get sick as the medical clinic that is on the site it’s a disaster. No napkins for nose, no hand sanitizer and doctor that we saw looks like didn’t have any knowledge. Beside that hotel is very nice, clean and well maintained.
Family vacation
We travelled as a family: two adults, two teens and a 4 year old. Our first impression at the family club check made us a bit nervous for the week to come. The receptionist was a bit cool. The decor was very child friendly, which made me nervous for the older teens. (I thought it might be too juvenile for them). As it turns out, I was wrong. Upon arrival, our concierge had pre-booked us into the Oriental and International a la crate restaurants. It was no problem for us to add Mexican, Tappenyaki, Steak house and Italian to our dining schedule for the week. Our room was spacious. We had the king bed, and triple bunks. Large bathroom. A nice welcome gift of sand toys and a stuffed pirate for our daughter. There were robes and slippers for each of us. Our room had no drawers, so we couldn’t unpack properly. Our teens room had drawers... guess it’s luck of the draw. Our room was promptly cleaned each morning while we went to breakfast. One night during the week our room attendant surprised us with champagne and petit fours. Nice touch! Buffet was good, with lots of variety. Breakfast is pretty standard for this type of resort. Lunch: we often stopped at the grills that were set up beside the pools. Excellent tacos and burgers. Our favourite lunch spot was the sports bar. Yummy food, and super quick. Dinners. There’s a lot. Lol. Mexican: our least favourite, appetizers were meh, fajitas were good. Italian: everyone liked their dish. Chicken Parm was exceptional. Steakhouse: ribs, steak, and prime rib were all good. Baked potato, was a bit dry. Oriental. Excellent, especially Mongolian Beef and Pad Thai. Teppanyaki- entertaining and yummy. If you want shrimp/lobster, there is an extra fee. Fish, chicken and beef are all standard and tasty. Kids pirate buffet: nice touch! Great for kids, but adults will likely want to eat elsewhere. Ice cream shop: a nice place to cool off on a hot day- lots of items on the menu. Drinks: house wines are just ok. There is an option to purchase other wines. As part of family club, we had access to premium liquor. Beach: clean, and always easy to find a chair. Pools, a bit cool, several to choose from and always easy to find a chair. Water park is nice, but water is frigid cold. It’s nice that towels aren’t micromanaged. Take as many as you like, with no fear of extra charges. Kids club: we utilized this a couple times. Our daughter loved it. Very welcoming. The staff recognized her everywhere. There are strollers and wagons you can sign out (no additional cost) which helps for getting around. There’s a magician who visits the tables, and is quite entertaining! Make sure to catch the kids magic snow. Entertainment: I loved it. I’m a dancer, so I appreciated the choreography and talent. They have different shows than any other resort I’ve been to. Our favourite was the “horror” show. Not scary at all! The entertainers don’t sing (lip sync), but all shows were enjoyable. Overall, this is a large resort, with plenty to offer everyone. It doesn’t seem crowded at all. There is lots of walking, but for people with no limited mobility, this is a nice way to burn off extra calories from all the yummy food. Staff is all very friendly. Resort is clean and beautiful. I would come back.
Everything is great except the food
My wife and 8 month old daughter just came back from this resort where we spent 7 days. We had a swimout room in the kids section (a must have with a baby so you aren't stuck in the room during naps). The resort itself is beautiful. The staff are incredibly friendly. The pools are nice and the beach is great. The resort is very spread out so be prepared for a lot of walking. The only downfall at this resort is the food. The buffet is not great and the a la cartes don't make up for it. The food wont get you sick but it is not good. Other than, a great time at the resort.
Fantastic Trip!
We are just about to leave the resort today and we are very sad because we have had a wonderful time. Everything here was fantastic. The only thing that I can fault is that the a la cart restaurants weren’t amazing, but they tried their best. Beautiful location, great beach, professional staff, amazing hotel and grounds. Can’t recommend this place any more!! You won’t be disappointed if you choose to stay here!
Kids Club Great Resort For Families
This resort is fantastic for families. The kids club has all the amenities needed to keep the kids entertained while the parents can relax. A few times we left things (water toys etc...) at one of their many pools thinking they were gone forever.... after speaking with the concierge and showing them a picture the lost item was returned within 5 minutes. They have a good but limited selection of strollers and wagons (first come first serve) which really help out. The resort has a really good beach towel policy, all you have to is write down your room number, qty of towels you want to to borrow and sign your name on a piece of paper. Really good way of reusing. Which leads me to the negative part of this review and I mean REALLY BIG negative 👎 The amount of plastic bottles of water this resort uses/ offers to guests is really quite awful. Considering the resort is situated right on the ocean which is being destroyed by plastic waste this would be comical if the climate crisis was not so scary. It’s a real shame the resort can’t offer re-usable bottles and filling stations that guests could use / leave the dirty bottles in their room for cleaning staff to pick up and replace with clean ones.
