Overnight stay with hubby for an event. Wendy is very welcoming & friendly. The room was comfortable & had everything we needed. Parking on the road is fine using RingGo app which we use whenever we visit Plymouth. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. I have given 4 stars purely because we had to wait for a good 10 mins in the rain to get in as no answer using doorbell & by phone as Wendy was chatting to other residents & didn't hear us

Avoid dated, tired and needing a revamp.

Location is amazing near to the scenic Hoe and lively Barbican 20 mins away. Local pub nearby excellent but the B&B is a let down. Wendy the owner is friendly but a little too familiar and over sharing at times, the plus points are 1 . Location and 2. excellent breakfast included in the price and 3. the shower was powerful..... BUT oh dear the decor as soon as you walk in is tired, dated and needing a major revamp. The room was no better, the matress was very lumpy and seriously worn down needing replacing, the bed creeked with the slightest movement, the sad powder blue wood chip walls in the bedroom was depressing and wood chip paper is everywhere either peeling away or marked and just gloomy, the shower was dirty and mouldy, the toilet brush dirty with a pool of brown water in there, the dated nylon beige carpet complete with stains needs ripping up and the basement where breakfast was served was dingy too. The hallway was musty and we couldnt wait to leave. There are three tables to dine and we were lucky to have our own but you may have to sit around one big table seating 8 if the other two are taken. I like my privacy in the morning and this would put me off. I doubt this hotel has been deep cleaned or decorated for years. There is room for a budget stay and in such a great location this place could be a gold mine but cleanliness is key and there is no excuse for what we found here as this hotel was far from it.

Very welcoming Bed&Breakfast with a quiet confortable room

Ideally located Bed&Breakfast only 20 minutes walk from city centre and very close to the seafront. Really pleasant stay at the Old Pier House with a very welcoming host Wendy who made sure that we were comfortable from check-in to check-out. Bedroom has good comfy mattress with little noise from the street for a good night sleep. Bathroom has a good power shower with consistent hot water. Wifi is very quick with no disconnections. Breakfast is a highlight as Wendy makes sure that toasts and delicious homemade coffee refills are abundant on top of a scrumptious full English breakfast. Highly recommended stay.

Stayed for two nights. Good for money. Clean comfy beds. We stayed in twin room with ensuite. Rear view but ok. Wendy the landlady was very welcoming NB and helpful. She can supply 24hr parking ticket for street. Very reasonable compared to parking meters. Breakfast was served downstairs around a very large round table. My husband and myself loved this. It gave us chance to talk to other guests and get to know them. Big choices for breakfast and it was all served and cooked by Wendy in the large kitchen next door. The house itself is easily within walking distance of The Hoe and Barbican and sea front. Would highly recommend.

Wendy was such a wonderful host, it was like staying at a friends house! The breakfast was just wonderful and very filling. Location was right near the beach. It is a good 30min walk from the train station and about 20mins into town, but we like walking so this wasn't an issue. The room was a good size, clean and comfy bed. It's a quiet location and a nice little fish and chip shop just up the road. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
