very please in the small growing uptown
I stayed over the passed weekend with my 3 children and i was very please i personally think the staff was amazing and tried to go above and beyond... I was girls at the desk at checkin always had a smile on there face and was able to point me in the right directions to st louis as me and my children were heading to the zoo and other things around the area and even gave me ideas to do with young kids because im not from around the area which is helpful. the beds were comfortable and the pool was nice the kids didnt mind it at all. The breakfast was good I did like how there were many different things to choose from including gluten free bagels which you dont see alot of... I will coming back in the future.
Bathroom
Stayed two nights at the hotel. Complained about black mildew or mold in the shower. Lady offered 1,000 points. Sink is clogged and vents are nasty. Really? Mattress aren't covered either . 4 year hotel and it's already going down. Smh enjoy your stay because I did not .
Nonsmoking....NOT!
The hotel is to be nonsmoking. We saw a review from earlier this year that said employee smokes outside front door , resulting in a strong odor of cigarette smoke in some areas. I was glad to see that management had responded to said review , saying that the problem would be dealt with. So we made our reservation . When we arrived to check in, we were greeted by a friendly young lady, and I recognized the name on her badge she as the smoker named in the review, was glad to know she was still around after smoking in the non smoking hotel, very nice person. We were disappointed when we smelled cigarette smoke later and saw this woman and a man with no name tag apparent outside of the front doors smoking. We saw more smoking in the days we were there. As people who abhor smoke, we were really disappointed. We tried to get in the hot tub one night and it was so hot we couldn’t even stay in it. The hotel served well as a landing place for our touristing of St Louis, but the smoking is very off putting. Breakfast was adequate. But, I think they should stop advertising it as a non smoking place!
Will be staying here again!!
Excellent service, very friendly staff, clean rooms & for my husband & I, the deal breaker: fast internet!! Most of these trips are for business reasons so fast internet is important. We will definitely be staying here again on our next stay!
Poor staff and management
For a Fairfield this property is adequate, nothing spectacular. Decently clean, no major issues with condition. However there was an issue that clearly showed me that the staff and management don't care. I was in a room directly above the front entrance. From the time I checked in I smelled a strong odor of cigarette smoke on and off. This is a non-smoking hotel. Typically this doesn't bother me but it was STRONG. Finally at about 9:30 PM I went to the front desk to ask about it (maybe someone in the next room was smoking). There was nobody at the front desk. I turned to my left and saw out the front doors and the front desk employee (Sonja) and a male who didn't work at the hotel were directly outside the front doors smoking! Sonja came inside and I told her that I had come down to ask about the strong cigarette smoke smell but it looks like I know where it's coming from. She said 'I probably shouldn't have been smoking out there.' and then 'I can suggest that I smoke in the back.' I asked her if I can move rooms and she claimed they were sold out. She said they could spray my room but I declined because that only masks the horrible smell that is already giving me a headache, it doesn't get rid of it. I asked if I could talk to a manager and she called the manager but he didn't answer. His business card was on the front counter so I took it and called and emailed him myself, asking nicely for a contact from him. This was two full days ago. I have heard nothing from him. Clearly they do not care at this property and the issue goes all the way up to the general manager. I will not be staying at this hotel again and would strongly advise others to steer clear. There are much better options around with better staff.
