Everything fantastic. Breakfast the best in the country! Black pudding, eggs, sausages, all delicious. Fab shop for great RNLI products. Rooms perfect and views of the Harbour amazing. Free parking and excellent service throughout our stay. Definately recommend.

Fabulous Second Stay

Having a car park is brilliant. Reception Staff friendly and helpful with a swift check in. Room overlooking the harbour, 4th floor this time. Fantastic views. Good size room. Comfortable bed. Wardrobe space. TV. Desk. Tea and Coffee facilities. Small Fridge. Safe. Ironing board and iron. The bar area is spacious and has the same wonderful views. Staff excellent. We did not have dinner this time as friends wanted to visit a restaurant they had not been to for years, but last time our meal was very good. We did though head back to the Bar and again staff were attentive and we spent a lovely evening. Great nights sleep. Breakfast was all fresh. Wonderful choice. Eggs cooked to order. Fruits, juices, cereals, pastries, toast machine and choice of hot drinks from 2 machines. The staff were helpful and cleared away as needed. After breakfast we managed to get on to the 11.00 tour of the Boat Building complex. Chris our guide was great. Very knowledgeable and we all had a wonderful insightful tour of how the Boats are made and refurbished. Next time we look forward to doing the College Discovery Tour. Probably best to book. Another great stay. We will come back.

Great Place to Stay

Managed to get a booking here for one night whilst we were en route to Devon. Our room was very clean but no heating. In fact there was no heating at all on the 3rd floor. Instead we had an electric heater which was fine. Room was very peaceful and had a great sea view. Food was great.

Disappointing stay

Having stayed before we we’re looking forward to our visit but were disappointed. It appeared there were only a few people staying and either the heating was broken or they had not turned it on for so few visitors. They did bring us a heater to our room eventually which worked well but obviously knew there was a problem but were not up front about it. Restaurant was cold for dinner so not a good experience unfortunately.

Discovery Tour

We had a very interesting and worthwhile visit to the RNLI College and found the Discovery Tour really interesting. our Guide was simply brilliant and spent a lot of time and patience due to the fact that all except one of our party was quite elderly. Do not be out off, doesn't matter how old you are you will enjoy your visit, even during the coldest months of the year, it was very cold on the day we visited. The simulator was almost too realistic!! A brilliant day out, nice restaurant, good food, great staff, lots of history mixed with modern day technology. Unfortunately no rooms available at the hotel on site so stayed in a local hotel.We will definitely visit again.
