Short walk to the beach, clean and spacious condo

The check in process was quick and easy. The front desk staff was pleasant and gave us suggestions for things to see in the area. The 2 bedroom suite with the ocean view was clean, spacious and had a great view! We also had garage parking! It was first come first serve but happy we were able to get a spot. It was a short walk to the beach and the location was convenient. We would definitely stay there again if we go back to Port Aransas.

My husband and I stayed here November 14-18. We had a standard studio room. The bed was horrible. You could see the indentations in the bed where other people had slept. We tried flipping the mattress but that was worse! Then we both sunk to the center of the bed. There were no hangars. My husband called the office to let them know there were no hangars and asked for hangars. A while passes so he calls again! After another 20 minutes and still no hangars so he went to the front desk inquiring about the hangars. Her only response was "How was I to know whether or not they were brought to your room. 10 minutes later a young man brought me one hangar! We had to literally tell him how many hangers I needed. This room had a full size fridge, a cooktop and a microwave. For utensils, I has a couple of knives, a few spoons and a few forks. I had 4 plates and 3 coffee cups. Not a single item matched. Most of them look as if they were purchased in a used store when actually they should have gone in the trash. When my husband went to inquire about the kitchen items, they told him that they have no control over the items in the rooms as all the facilities are owned by individuals. If that is the case, then why are all the toiletries the same. Also why is all the artwork on the walls purchased at the same place? I can confirm these statements as our son and his family were staying in a two bedroom condo at the same location. They has the same towels and the same artwork. They say they come by each day and knock on the door to ask about our need for towels. I was in the room both days when I heard something being put in the door jam. It was a paper saying they came by and knocked on the door but we didn't answer. Funny, I was in the room and they never knocked. The most irritating thing was when the employees decided they needed to do laundry at 11:00 at night. The washers and dryers are right up against the wall where our headboard is. No sleep for us!!

Probably the worst experience staying in a Hotel in our lives

This is a great place to stay if your a fan of being treated like crap, and being in a room that is infested with roaches. I cannot think of a more completely horrible experience in a Hotel in my life! When we called the management office letting them know there were roaches everywhere including the couch and bedding we were told that all they could do was send pest control, but they did not have anywhere else to put us. So, the remedy for my family was to basically just live with it, or leave. Needless to say I was fortunate enough to find us a room at another Hotel and we packed up our things at 11pm and got out of there. DO NOT stay in this place whatever you do. I can tell you that there was little surprise in the voice of the code enforcement officer that I reported it to the following day.


Beachgate or Hell's gate?

If you know Port A then you will understand when I say - I would rather wear a hat from Shorty’s ceiling than ever stay at this place again. I recently stayed in Unit 536 for one night. When you pay almost $300 a night for a room you should at the very least have a clean room with hot water, but that wasn’t the case. Here is what I got instead: A toilet so old the wood was showing through on the seat, and it was stained yellow. Brown stains on the walls Soap scum in shower NO HOT WATER Filthy doors and handles Furniture so worn down it might have come from the side of the road after Hurricane Harvey Stained sheets on the bed Dirty kitchen utensils Broken drawers Dirty baseboards and floors I reached out to management twice via email about the condition of the room and no one has responded. Additionally, I requested a refund through Expedia (the site I used to book my stay) and Beachgate denied my request for a refund.


Room 111

I stayed in room 111 with my husband, 2 kids and dog the weekend of 8/21-8/23. It was the dirtiest hotel/condo we’ve ever stayed in. The location of this room is a prime spot, beach front, 30 second walk to the sand. It’s a shame the room is so gross and not taken care of. There was a used wash cloth and hair left in the shower/tub, microwave handle broken, furniture smelled like mildew, towels were stained and had holes, floor was very dirty (we get that it is right at the sandy beach but it was like it had never been mopped), kitchen cabinets and counters had food residue and gunk stuck on them, walls were very dirty, the list goes on. We didn’t use many of the dishes there as they were dirty too. I called front desk after the first night and asked for new towels and the room to be cleaned. They did an ok job and replaced the moldy shower curtain, however they didn’t replace the coffee and took our soap without replacing it. I would not recommend this establishment to others. And the staff didn’t really seem to care. On the review sheet I turned in, I checked the box asking for a phone call back. Still waiting for the phone call.
