More about the hotel
A must when staying in Porto
Maison Particuliere was recommended by a friend from Evora who always stays there when in Porto....We trusted his recommendation and how right we were! This is a wonderful boutique hotel with a lot of character. The 10 rooms are all different but all of the highest standard. The situation is perfect as well. We parked the car in the Ribeira car park which is 5 min walk away and did everything on foot. The service at the hotel is of the highest standard...Nothing is too much for the 3 ladies in charge Marta, Susanna and Filipa. When next in Porto we will not even think of staying anywhere else. One if not the best experience in a hotel.
Outstanding experience at M
Great hosting, high quality breakfast, quiet and cosy rooms, very good beds and mattresses and excellent blinds to allow a perfect night sleep. Loved the decoration. It is very uncommon not having any remarks for improvements after staying over but this is one of these situations
Perfect !
What a great hotel, for so many reasons. First, a fabulous location - right in the heart of Porto and less than 1000 metres to the top attractions. Sao Bento train station at the top of the road, river just down the hill. Staff, friendly , helpful, lots of local knowledge and keen to ensure you have a great break. Breakfast, pre order in the evening and enjoy from a good selection, including cooked and of course Pastel de Nata. Finally , the room, large, spacious, very comfortable and a fantastic rain shower. We enjoyed a great four day break and highly recommend Porto and Maisonette Particuliere.
Beautiful but noisy
This small hotel right in the middle of the old town, surrounded by restaurants and bars is beautiful. I had a room right on the pedestrian mall and that would be a problem for a light sleeper. Luckily I’m not but the limited repertoire of the buskers drove me almost to insanity. They seem to have 3 songs each and if you rest in the afternoon after a large lunch you cannot really sleep because the constant noise, although not too bad but sooooo repetitive, makes your blood boil. The hotel is certainly worthwhile staying as you can just walk anywhere you want, but I suggest a room that isn’t facing the main road.
Lovingly Restored Boutique Hotel in Best Location
The M Maison is a beautifully restored small boutique hotel right on Rua Flores which is the best location in Porto. You can walk everywhere in Porto right out the door plus there is a great energy and liveliness on the street with cafes and restaurants and music. The hotel is well soundproofed so there is no street noise when you retire to your room. Each room is uniquely decorated and spacious with great showers and linens. Spectacular artwork likes the walls in the lobby and in each suite. The staff is very responsive making dinner reservations, calling taxis, and handling any request. We had originally planned on staying at one of the 5**** hotels in Porto we had read about but after seeing it in person, staying at the M Maison was clearly a prettier and better located place and so much better an overall personal experience.
