A Great Base for the North of Skye

Great Stay at the UIG hotel as part of the Skye Photo Workshop week. Friendly, with excellent rooms and service in all areas, the gem of this hotel is the food. Over 6 days the menu never failed to delight, and the menu selections were as good as anywhere we have stayed. Thank-you for making our stay in Skye memorable.
A treasure on Skye

What started many years ago as a stopping point before I take the ferry from Uig to Harris is now a treasured part of any escape home to the highlands. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Comfortable rooms: beds comfy, showers strong, thoughtful touches such as USB charging sockets. I can’t recommend a stay at the Uig Hotel highly enough.

Just returned from a lovely stay at the Uig hotel. Food was very good. Breakfasts and dinners plentiful and great quality. Staff in the restaurant are excellent…..attentive, pleasant and friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable and very well serviced each day. We will definitely return to this hotel.
A beautifully located and high quality hotel in northern Skye

We stayed at the Uig Hotel for 6 nights in one of their Lodge rooms, which also had gorgeous sea views over the bay. The hotel is about 20 minutes north of Portree but is ideally situated for many of the islands attractions, including Storr, Fairy Glen, Quiraing, Duntulm, Kilt Rock, Lealt Falls and the Dinosaur Footprints. One of our concerns was being too remote if we stayed far from Portree but this was perfect. We found it was lovely and peaceful, yet not too far from town. The room itself and en-suite bathroom were both spacious, immaculately clean and nicely decorated. It was fully heated and kept warm and snug. Parking was plentiful right outside the hotel. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. They were also obviously knowledgeable about the island and happy to make suggestions and gave us some useful tips. We found the food was excellent, including hearty breakfasts and a varied selection on the evening menu. As well as the short standard menu, there was a daily specials menu which offered even more choice. The food was fresh and made to order and beautifully presented. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable break and would certainly recommend as a base to explore the beautiful Isle of Skye
Stopped in for lunch with the dogs - highly recommended!!

Stopped in on a round trip of Skye for some lunch. Firstly the food was amazing - lovely Scottish beef burger and amazing onion rings and chips! The main thing we loved about this place was the staff were so accommodating and when they say dog friendly they really mean it! They even apologised for not having dog treats as their own dog found the box 🤣 We were made very welcome with our boys - thank you! Definitely worth stopping by.
