Restaurant - Wonderful (Didn't stay at the Hotel).
Booked for an evening meal, and as it was still warm in the evening so we sat outside. We all chose the menu of the day. The main course was absolutely superb and so nicely presented. And at very reasonable prices (I think it was about 16€ or 17€ a head for Starter, Main Course, Desert, Wine and Coffee)!!! Will definitely be returning for another meal (or ten)!
Oh Yes!
Not the first time but always a pleasure. The place is so relaxed you just have to enjoy it. Sit on the shady terrace and enjoy. Dinner is easy going. Service is great and the food is very nice. We really enjoyed our stay. For bikers a very nice place to stall your motor. Rooms are ok. But this place is top. Cahors is near by if you want to visit
Nice Hotel, Nice Food
My wife and I took a road trip through France during October 2015. We took a Brittany Ferry to Bilbao and then drove into France, stopping initially in the Pyrenees and journeying on to the Dordogne and finally catching a ferry home from Ouistreham. The road trip was a combined gourmet experience and sightseeing trip. All the hotels we stayed at were in the Logis Network. The Logis Network is a group of independently owned hotels and restaurants renowned for their regional cuisine. Each hotel is graded in terms of it’s comfort and quality. This is shown by the number of fireplaces, from 1 to 3 and there is an “Exceptional” which is a very highest quality and service. For dining there are again four classifications. These are graded in terms of cooking pots from 1 to 3 and a higher classification of “Table Distinguée”. Details of Logis can be found on their web site or in a Logis Brochure, which can be obtained from any Logis Hotel or Restaurant. This is a review of one of the hotels we stayed at. To view reviews of the other hotels click on my name on the left. This is a two fireplace, two cooking pot rated hotel and has very nice food at a reasonable price. We stayed for two nights in an annex, detached from the main hotel. This part of the hotel needs some updating, but was comfortable. Although the towels were thin and need replacing. The ensuite shower was very good, but was not thermostatic. We stayed in the low season and there were only a handful of guests so there was not too much demand on the hot water. The bedding was clean and the beds were comfortable. There is a large private car park. The proprietor was very nice and helpful, in that she phoned ahead to our next hotel and made a booking for us. She also provided some useful local information. The set menu for dinner was very good with regional dishes at a very reasonable price. The breakfast menu was a bit limited, providing only the standard French breakfast.
Value for money
Bearing in mind the cost of the hotel along with the cost of the menus it offered I have rated this establishment accordingly. We stayed in the annex building and yes the bathrooms are a bit dated:ours being chocolate and lime, but they were spotlessly clean. The soundproofing isn't brilliant, but not as bad as some places I've stayed at. My only gripe is that as they seem to accommodate workers who leave around 7am, you may be woken a little earlier than normal. The food we ate, for the cost was some of the best during our holiday in France: good size portions and a good choice of things to eat. There were plenty of choices for dessert, nothing too adventurous, but undoubtedly something to suit anyone. The staff were polite, helpful and welcoming. What more can you ask?
Restaurant - Excellent
We did not stay at the hotel, but ate in the restaurant two nights running. It was excellent. A three course dinner of Euros 16.50 - with the highest quality ingredients, good size portions and very well presented. Would thoroughly recommend it.
