This was our first time visiting Prague. It will not be our last trip to this amazingly beautiful city. Vila Lanna’s website abounds with lovely images of the interior and exterior of the property. Thusly led to believe that we would be spending four days in a hotel with “old world” Harm, our hearts sank when we were taken to our room that wasn’t even in the main building. Instead, we were given a room that she reminded me of my dorm room in colllege. Except, my dorm room didn’t have a Porta Potti outside the right outside our window. In total disclosure, we presume it was for the construction workers. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, since our understanding of the Czech language as well as the surroundings of Prague, we were naturally expecting some sort of meaningful assistance instead of being made to feel like we were a bother. As we quickly discovered after finding a stellar (and affordable) hotel around the corner, hospitality demonstrated to us by the Vila Lanna staff does not come close the demonstrating Czech hospitality
Dog would have better treatment

I stayed in Vila Lana with my family for 5 days, we booked more than 10 rooms for a wedding. If you want to feel unwanted, be treated like a thief, and almost be insulted go for it!
The building and the garden are beautiful, unfortunately this is the only quality of the hotel. As any decent hotel, we were expecting to have some services. Unfortunately, we had no towels changed for 5 days, the bed sheets were destroyed and dirty (as shown on the picture), we used two cups of tea the first evening, which were never taken out. The room is decorated with few carpets which can be nice, until they are not cleaned regularly. We also found just next to the bed old hair curlers from previous guests. Not to mention the sink which was smelling bad.
We mentioned all of this for the checkout and were expecting for some commercial refund, as there was no services we can expect in any hotel, especially with 3 stars.
Well... We were said that we should have ask for cleaning and new towels (we putted them on the floor and just found them back at the same place..) and that the manager will not be there before 2 pm, when it was 11.30. As our flight was leaving at 2.30, we asked to see someone in charge or at least to get a phone call. The discussion starts to heat after we were told that we have to pay or they will send the police (seriously?!). Basically the all arguments were that the man receptionist went to Paris 3 times and he wasn't able to find any room for less than 80€ per night, which is the price for double room in the hotel, so we shouldn't complain because for us it's really cheap. Then, new thing was that for the price of the room you even can't have breakfast in Paris. So: since when our nationality should involved our bank account? Also, how the personal experience of the receptionist should excuse the lack of service of this hotel? Not to mention that, yes, you can have a room and even breakfast for this price. Finally, I was told that I was the only one from my family to complain about this, which is right only because no one speaks good enough English to explain this. I wouldn't need to say that I've never seen any personnel working in hotel shouting on clients (the "Pay or I call police!" yelled on the lobby could wake up anyone in the building) so rudely, screaming and speaking up to my voice and nearly told me to shut up. This comes with few bad experience with the same receptionist who said to member of my family who forgot the first day the number of her room that she "just has to remember it". I've been visiting Prague for many years, stayed in maybe 10 differently hotels, used to travel a lot with my job and I never had so bad experience. So yes, the building is nice. Just don't ask for anything more, and surely, don't complain!
At this time, I wrote a letter to the manager with my phone and email and didn't have any news from them which show how much they care about their clients.
A vey charming place

The place is very charming and old which gives you the feeling of luxury of the 19th century. It is very clean and the area is quite. As an advise, don't arrive at night. You won't find any signs and the light will be off!
Personal is not friendly
Opinión escrita el 20 de Agosto de 2016
I stayed for 5 days and I can say that the personal is not friendly and not polite. I felt that I was judged be being young and student and I was treated with less respect. Two comments from me:
1. I had a friend staying with me for the last night and we needed to pay the difference ot 20 euro. I was constantly repeated to pay this difference, even though all money for the room were paid in advance (on the way for morning run and before going for breakfast) even though in normal hotels extra money should be paid at check out.
2. When I wanted to leave the luggage (check out at 11 am and I had a plane at 10 pm) the reception woman told me "there is no more place".
This made me feel very luch not wanted as a guest. And during all the time I was polite with hotel workers.
The location and the beauty of the place are great, but due to mentioned I would not come back to this hotel.
