We travelled with our child and booked a family suite and it was more than we expected (the suite had two rooms, two bathrooms and a storing room for luggage and extra towels & stuff). It was very comfortable for us and they also provided a baby cot for our child. The hotel has a lot of character and traditional architectural forms as it is a 18th century oil mill transformed. This hotel gives you an authentic Provencal experience. The food and service are great and the lavender scent from the rooms makes you feel that you are in the middle of a fairy tale.
its service is outstanding!!
the location is perfect. but what I was impressed is its great service. I left my jacket in the room when check out. I realize it later on that day and I couldn't return to the hotel. I contact the hotel to inquire about my jacket. I almost gave up to get it back. Surprisingly the hotel staff sent my jacket to Japan. Of course I paid the delivery cost. even it is not a 5 star hotel, a hotel in a small town, I think its service is 5 star!! 部屋に忘れたジャケットをのちに日本まで送ってくれたそのサービスには大変感動しました．ホテルによっては忘れ物は絶対見つからないことも多いうえに，海外まで発送してくれるサービスは素晴らしい．
A beaux village indeed!
We visited Mourlarin and stayed at Moulin de Mourlarin. A very beautiful and unique hotel. A little more than a boutique hotel but a little quirky and unusual, as it is housed in an old mill. Rooms were well appointed with good air con and en suite. Front desk service was exemplary. The hotel has a delightful restaurant which is absolutely first class! A great place to stay in Lourmarin!
My "picholine" room was just that, small, but nicely arranged and lovely. Perfect for a solo traveller. The amenities/toiletries were high end and much appreciated. The greeting at reception was warm and personable. Parking was free and easily accessible, and the location (on the edge of the old village) was ideal for marketing, strolling and window shopping. The hotel itself has been beautifully renovated. The common areas are spacious, cool and pretty. And the restaurant is world class; I had a truly memorable meal there. I can't wait to go back!
Extremely unpolite reception
I have stayed at this hotel with my husband 3 years ago, and had no problems. Yesterday I was at Luberon with my husband again and we thought of staying again at the Moulin de Louberon. What a difference!!! As soon as I reached the reception, the attendant, who had kust finished talking to the previous client, looked at me and I said just "bonjour" - that was my exact and ONLY word. He shouted (yes, SHOUTED, you are reading it right) asking if I couldn't see he was occupied with another costumer. Even though he had looked at me as if it was my turn. I said I was sorry, I didn't mean to bother, but since the other customer was already going away and he looked at me, I assumed it was my turn. And I just said (all the conversation in french) that I was looking for a room to stay, but I would look elsewhere. His answer was: "-Go ahead, I just don't care." That's right. The final statement of the hotel was that they think is perfectly ok to SHOUT at a customer that just said "bonjour" because "they just don't care". This kind of thing happens only because perhapes this attendant feels ok treating customers like garbage, because he knows nothing is ever going to happen to him. Maybe he thinks he can just shout (for no reason) at customers, and go on working as if nothing happened, until the day he retires. So, I'm changing my review for 1 star, for good. And never intend to return.
