Excellent !!
This is my second review , in English , as I can express myself much better in my « mother tongue » 😀 Firstly a large Thankyou , such a Welcoming Team a credit to this Hotel , from the chamber staff to reception all of you made us feel « cared for « a rare quality « On arrival we had been upgraded to a privilege room. A spacious room with balcony overlooking the mountains. Very , very , !! comfortable large bed and high quality bedding . Shower spotlessly clean spacious , easy to use and constant hot water . Breakfast more than sufficient ! Choice of fruit yoghurts ,cold meats cheese fresh breads and croissants and locally made confitures that were delicious. Not forgetting the cooked selection. We preferred the continental option One complaint here ..... we were too full up to eat lunch each day !! We do not have any negative comments so much so we have reserved our stay for next September. Well done in this current economic climate for keeping up such a high standard of hospitality .
Good hotel, but many issues
Primarily rude and inconsiderate manager (explained at the end, as it is long). Also, there was a sequence of things going wrong: 1. When I arrived, remote for air-conditioning wasn't working (but it was fixed later); 2. The next day air-conditioning started dripping; 3. View of the courtyard is actually view of the wall; 4. Internet in room 16 doesn't work - WiFi signal is too weak and breaks of after 30 seconds and mobile data is unavailable (on the last day I found out that you can get a portable router to solve it, but by then it was late); 5. In the evening, doors of the corridor were twice blocked by luggage cart; 6. On the 3rd evening only 1 lift functioned; 7. Bad quality toilet paper; 8. Tasteless scrambled eggs, 9. Last evening I wanted to have tapas st the bar for supper, but they were out of bread. Manager issue: When I arrived, I asked that I would need help applying sunscreen to my upper back, as I cannot do it myself due to the dislocated shoulder. Initially I was told ok, but when I asked for this help before going to the beach, I was told no, as manager does not allow it, due to corona. I asked why, as there is no risk if we both wear the masks and they apply it with the vinyl gloves, like they did in the other hotel. He just said no, with additional rude comments that I can ask a physiotherapist to apply it for me (which I find rude and abusive in these circumstances) or that I can ask someone on the beach to help (which is not an option now - if I took the bag with gloves there, they would get damaged from the sun, and people there have no soap and water to wash hands afterwards, like in the hotel). Good things: Extra effort to provide clean and safe environment in the corona epidemic period. Good room, kind receptionists, super-kind and service-minded trainees (I hope they get good permanent positions, because they deserve them). Good breakfast selection. When I was checking out they apologised for the problems and gave a little discount because of it, which was kind.
great surprise
unexpected 3 days stay in a centrally located hotel with a garage. The rooftop has stunning views and the beach is very close by. Very friendly staff and all main attractions in walking distance.Had a great break .
Grew on us
Got this hotel at a very good price in low season (January) and initially, I was a little disappointed with it. The room seemed small and the corridors dingy. But for some reason, it grew on us during our stay. The bed was very comfortable with two mattresses so we didn’t wake each other at night. The balcony had a nice enough view. We had tea and coffee provided in the room, traditionally not the case in France, though this may now have changed. We also had a fridge in the room and bathrobes provided (this may not be the case for standard rooms.) Breakfast was good - lots of choice and in particular, delicious fruit juice and coffee. However the evening meal we had in the hotel was a little disappointing; it seemed pretty basic. The hotel restaurant is a popular place at night though - I think it attracts a lot of Italians and locals for a meal out. The rooftop bar is really nice and, in summer, would be a fantastic place for a cocktail to watch the sunset. A friendly barman too. Overall, this hotel represented good value for money and we enjoyed our stay here.
Central location in Menton
We booked a double supérior room on the official hotel website with promo rate senior 55Y package , breakfast offered and 10% total réduction. We also got a balcony upgrade. EVERYthing in the hotel was fine and OK. The only problem we had was the airco not working. I reported it 2 times at the réception without response. We came from Cannes by TER train (€11.1) about 90 min.on the way. From Nice there is bus 100 (€1.5) at the harbour ,also about 90 min. on the way.
