Great service, modern hotel, very good but has a few issues. Nice view of Puebla.

After a bad experience at another hotel, we took refuge at the Four Points by Sheraton Puebla. The staff were great and helped us check in early so we could store our luggage before going about our day.
The bed was great and the room was modern. It was great to be able to park our car ourselves as having to disinfect everything after a valet is annoying during these COVID days. Note that valet parking is available if you prefer that.
The only significant issue was that there was a lot of noise from the adjoining room. I guess it's hard to sound proof a door between rooms, so next time I will ask if there are any rooms without that door.
I was disappointed that the TV software blocks you from using any of the HDMI inputs so it is impossible to watch a show from your laptop or use the TV as a second screen. I had read that in another review beforehand but figured that person just didn't know what they were doing - no, they were right!
The Wi-Fi went down a couple of times during our stay, but not for too long.
The fridge seemed to be broken but when I told the front desk they told me actually it's more of a cooler - it will try to keep the temperature the same, but it does not cool. It was warmer inside there than in the hotel room itself, so I'm not sure what the point is. Don't trust it for any perishables!
Lovely room, restaurant disappointing

We stayed for a night at the Four Points and were really pleased with our room, which was a small suite. Really spacious bed, an enormous bathroom with bath and shower. All very comfortable. The hotel reception/bar/restaurant area is very modern and comfortable, but the bar choices were disappointing, with an emphasis on Gin. No cocktails or much choice of beers or wine. We ate dinner in the restaurant but found the menu choices disappointing, particularly as they have a lot of international guests, and there was not a great deal of choice. What we did have was not particularly good. I would recommend that you stay at the hotel and walk (20 mins) or taxi down to the huge shopping centre Liverpool Mall, where they have a number of nice restaurants. On a more positive note, all of The staff were very helpful.
Great choice (+ pet friendly 🐾)

We really enjoyed our stay. Even when we booked a few hours before by phone (when Expedia didn’t show any availability) in a weekend when the tourism is very high, the price was just great considering the great service, commodities and location. We didn’t know it was pet friendly but definitely will consider it in our next trip (only 4 rooms conditioned for pets, so anticipate when booking).

Firstly, we were surprised to see, by hotel signage, that it was a Marriott property or we would have communicated with Marriott directly as we are members. Upon arrival I was pressured by front desk staff to submit a deposit "just in case we made charges", we knew we would not have any charges yet after the pressure I complied (I did speak to the Manager who cancelled the charge on our last day). We had a double queen bed room, the beds were comfortable, the A/C was the noisiest I've ever heard, louder than the TV unless the volume was raised a lot, it was also difficult to set the desired temperature and if you turned it off (it was always cold! no matter how much we fiddled with it) the room was super stuffy since there are no windows that open. The bathroom was ok yet had no ventilation and the extractor was not working plus the towels were some of the roughest I've ever experienced. Some of the lights in the room were not operating. All the above we did not complain above, they are just what was in the room during our stay. The one thing we did complain about was the TV system in place, we travel a lot and bring our media equipment for nights spent in, like Fire TB, etc. We also have several online media services which we maintain and use all over the world, like VPN, HBO, Amazon Prime, Netlix, YouTube, etc. While the TV in room can allow you to view Netlix and YouTube, you will not be able to access any other service nor use any of your own media devices. I know several families that bring along video consoles for their children to keep them entertained for example, but the system in this hotel is blocked to any devices from your cell phone or any external device and while we don't have children, having to watch Mexican on air programs (and we are 100% fluent) is not my idea of entertainment. HBO shown on their system does not correspond to any of the descriptions shown on the guide. When I brought this issue up to Management they just said "Oh, yes we do block all content". It's a small detail but when most people own more than a few devices, it's very close minded of them. At least they don't charge additionally for Internet which Marriott is known to do.... The restaurant on the main floor was another disappointment as the food was completely without flavor and /or salt, for a Puebla offering is not good at all. We paid for the breakfast buffet at $250 per person. They had someone on the grill making eggs (worst Huevos Rancheros ever!), quesadillas, chalupas, etc. The "guisados" a beef and potatoes one and a chicken one are best skipped. The beans just ok, the coffee was dark water and while they have an espresso machine it was not in operation. So had juice and some mini pastries which were good. We were never tempted to order room service as offerings in town are much better and many are cheaper as well. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed speaking to them, we also enjoyed our view of the Popocatepetl volcano which is always lovely.
Modern amenities and friendly staff

Located about 15 minutes outside of the historical city center of Puebla, is this two-year hotel that offers contemporary and modern amenities. The staff are very helpful. The hotel has a chic and minimalist vibe. The rooms are slightly smaller than the average size, but offers the comforts you need. The rooms have a lot of storage space with modern amenities. The only negative about the rooms which doesn’t affect my rating are the doors. They don’t close quietly.
The gym is small but offers basic cardio equipment and free weights with a serene view of the outdoors. Adjacent to the gym is a small pool area.
The breakfast buffet offers a small variety of cereals but offers a variety of fruits, cheeses, omelette station, and a variety of Mexican dishes. We also had dinner in the restaurant multiple nights. The menu offers a variety of meat and vegetarian options. I highly recommends the pesto pasta, salads, and vegetable kebab. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and the service was excellent.
The main lobby offers an open area of coworker and individual space with a variety of photography and art books. In terms of convenience, there is a fast food store next to the hotel and a pharmacy one street away. There’s also A Walmart about a 12 minute walk from the hotel where you can buy just about anything. If I were to return to Puebla in the future, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
