Good value in historic center with character.

Convenient location in historic center, the renovations of this historic building are well done. If having a cracked tile or two in an 18th century building bothers you, then this isn't the place. I also found the location fairly quiet, even in a streetside room (214). Rooms are large and well equipped. Wifi worked fine. Beds were comfortable. Ambient temperatures were comfortable, no heating or air condtioning was noted or needed. Breakfasts were simple (boring actually) same fruit every day (papaya), one sweet bread and lots of bread rolls, eggs with addin options. Coffee and if you ask, possibly OJ. Staff were pleasant and the room was clean. Room locks with an old fashioned skeleton key, and can sometimes be tricky to be sure it's locked or unlocked. I don't think there was a room safe, unfortunately. The hot water can take a while to reach the second floor, need to turn on the shower full blast (and you get wet doing it so a shower cap would be handy). As is typical, two small bottles of water are provided daily per room. There is an Oxxo nearby. Would recommend.Excellent value.
Very old Historical building

Very nice, clean; it would be helpful to have an ice machine; Loved the history of an old family home, and a place for migrants passing through. Very centralized location. Breakfast was supplied and fresh cooked.
Excellent Hotel with Room for Improvement

Perfect location one long block from the Cathedral. Rooms are tastefully furnished in tile and wood with a colonial feel befitting this beautiful city. Room size was ample and there was much more storage space than most similar hotels. Bathroom was huge. Staff was excellent. Graciela, who was at the desk during the day, was extremely cordial and helpful with information and travel plans. I had a king room with a balcony, as I like a view of the street, and many Mexican hotels only have interior rooms. The street, considering how central, was surprisingly quiet, but there are also good noise isolating windows. Shower had ample hot water at all times. There's a coffeemaker in the room, with coffee supplied, as well as bottled water every day. It's great value for the money considering quality of room, service and location. The photos of the rooms are accurate. Cons: Hot water in sink was very slow to heat up. There were no accessible power outlets near the bed as they were all behind the bed. This could be remedied by extension cords or lamps with power outlets. There was insufficient bathroom lighting in my room, e.g. no lights over the mirror, so a bit of a challenge to shave. It was difficult to get the key in the room lock as the lock was somewhat stripped, so I had to jiggle the key. Management should be more attentive to lock maintenance. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. Good fresh OJ, coffee or tea (but no herbal tea choices), a small serving of fruit, bread, and eggs of your choice. The huevos rancheros were pretty good. Every morning they'd also have a different sweet bread. The conchas were excellent, but the cookies on other days didn't seem as appropriate a breakfast choice. They should just stick with daily conchas. Still, for me these are minor issues compared to the pluses mentioned above.
don't waiste your time and money .

I made reservations on this Hotel , based on their photos and reviews, what a mistake !!!!. This is not a well maintained hotel, doesn't have air conditioning, and the windows does't have a screen to avoid the mosquitoes to get in ( that in summer are abundant ). We ask for a fan, but was noisy, we needed to turn it off in order to get some sleep. The shower and restrooms are installed inside of a closet and they make noise every time some the doors open . The mattress are really uncomfortable. After a terrible night were nobody could sleep , either because it was hot or to much noise , we decided to move to another hotel. We complain and try to get some of our money back, but it was unsuccessful . At the end of the day we move to another hotel , it didn't matter we loose our money , all we wanted was to have a nice night sleep. Our room was 108 which is above the machine room (water heaters etc) and you could feel the heat in the room and noises all nigh.
Exceptional Service & Location

My husband & I stayed at Hotel Casa de la Palma for 11 days less than a month ago during our trip to Puebla. Upon arrival we eagerly greeted by the front man desk supervisor Jorge, check in was smooth. (If you pay in Pesos and not using a debit or credit card you pay much less). Our room was on the top 3rd floor named Master Suite Porfiriana. Marvelous room very spacious, largest one offered by hotel with a fabulous bathroom. And of course the double balconies over seeing both 3 Oriente & 4 Norte streets. The views from the balconies are beautiful. Morning breakfasts are delicious & simple. And of course every morning your welcomed by Olga who also does the cleaning of your rooms. She is a wonderful asset warm & humble. Your also only 1 block from the Zocalo from where all the hustle & bustle of the city you take in. Close in proximity is the Gayberhood of Puebla as I call it. Within walking distance to many bars and clubs which are open till 6am. Graciela one of the other front desk supervisors was extremely helpful, daily pointing stuff out to us to visit and always offering genuine information. The night doorman also made our experience a satisfying one. Overall I highly recommend Hotel Casa de la Palma. It’s situated in a perfect location, cost effective, and one receives outstanding service from everyone working there.
