Excellent staff-not so excellent resort
I have to start off by saying the staff at the resort are absolutely fantastic. Very attentive to your needs. The views are stunning as well. The location of this resort is prime. Walking distance to everything. The not so good, and I feel bad saying this because the staff was just phenomenal but...the food. The food, Not a great selection and just sort of bland. Only a few restaurants to choose from and the only way to have dinner was to make a reservation. And the window to make a reservation was only 10a.m to 11a.m. Even though the resort was pretty empty due to covid. The rooms need updating and we could never get the AC to work the way we needed it to. The water pressure was also pretty bad and we were never sure if we would even have hot water. The bed was so hard that my husband and I were so sore every single day. Not one good nights rest. By the second day of our visit, all of us(3 couples) had gastrointestinal problems. Not sure if it was the food but we were hit hard with vomiting and diarrhea. So the overall experience was just mediocre.
Amazing stay. Amazing facility, but the food, nor drinks were not up to par.
Do not get me wrong. My sister and I had an amazing stay. The staff was super friendly, and the resort is stunning. However the only good drinks came from the sky bar, and we just didn’t enjoy the food that was included in the all inclusive rate. I would rate them a 3.5, but they don’t allow half stars. Also be prepared to be overwhelmed with a swarm of people attempting to sell you something when you leave the resort, or simply go to the beach directly outside the resort.
A great place for families
This is our second time staying at the Buenaventura Grand Hotel. We stayed with our three kids three months ago and this time it was just me and my partner without kids. We booked and paid for the deluxe renovated king bed and somehow got a NOT renovated king ocean view. We aren't picky and the housekeeping lady on the second floor (room 1219) was so kind and attentive, it made up for it. We liked the room because it was only a few steps from the stairwell that leads down to the pool. The breakfast buffet was almost the same options every morning and the food is very good. We are light morning eaters, so it was perfect for our morning fruit, yogurt and coffee routine. We only ate dinner at the buffet once during our trip and it was also very good. We made a morning reservation at the beachside restaurant and it was nice. Three courses and the option to buy a bottle of wine at an extra cost. We went with a very nice red for the cooler evening. They have a pretty good wine selection. Lastly, we used the late night room service three times during this stay. The burgers are very good and the service is pretty quick (25-30 minutes). The pools are great and the beach chairs and umbrellas are plenty for such a larger resort. A big shout out to the best pool/beachside waiter, Eduardo or "Lalo" if you become acquainted. He's attentive, quick, and has his customer service skills polished and sincere. He remembered us from our last visit just three months ago! Great place overall!
A safe place to enjoy beautiful Puerto Vallarta
This facility offers all the amenities to make for a great vacation. The property is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, the staff is professional and genuinely concerned to make my experience best, the cuisine is delicious and offered with great variety. There are protocols in place to minimize exposure to the pandemic, which includes disinfecting the luggage, temperature checks, and requirement for masking. The hotel also offers departure testing as required by the US government. My overall experience was joyful.
Wonderful time away from home.
The view from my room was delightful and at times Breath taking with the sunset view. Cleanliness was super, especially for these hard time were going throw with covid 19, plenty of care taken with your health in mind.
