Park Inn by Radisson

This hotel is an excellent value – great location, great breakfast, wonderful staff. When we departed Puerto Varas , I had left an envelope with some important documents behind. I contacted Rodrigo, at the front desk, to see what could be done. He gathered them together and arranged to have them shipped via Chile Express to Santiago where I picked them up. This was truly exceptional service.

Nice location near to Puerto Varas downtown. We could get the center by foot which is nice because you pay for every inch of parking here. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is clean and have reasonable price. However, services need to be improved. Internet doesn’t work in our room. We asked for help, but nothing was done. Very poor connection of WiFi. Breakfast is ok, but they served us with old bread (a week old bread)! At our last night the parking lot was full and my wife asked a staff were we should park the car and she was totally ignored by the staffing. They even doesn’t answered a word for the question she made. Improve your WiFi, be kind and definitely not serve old food to the guests, please.

I stayed here for 2 nights on my Exodus trip around Chile. I shared a twin room with my Dad, which was ideal for us. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, ensuring we both slept very well each night. The bathroom had a powerful shower, which stayed hot throughout our stay. The free wifi could be easily accessed from my room and in all public places of the hotel. The breakfast was perfect with plenty of choice, lots of fresh fruit, great coffee and tasty cakes. The tap water can be drunk here and so we refilled our bottles from the bathroom tap. We also had a free drinks voucher each on check in, so had a glass of red wine. The hotel is in an ideal location for exploring the town, our room had a view of the lake and on a clear day, Osorno volcano can be seen! I would stay here again if I find myself back in Puerto Varas as the location is ideal and the rooms very comfortable!

Our room (number 312) was a total disaster. To be fair to Radisson (which we normally like), we did not request a change of rooms--we were too tired to go through the the hassle. Our room was exceedingly small. Why it was assigned (we were part of a tour group) to a couple escapes us. The room was not even fit for a single occupant. There was no chair (or space for a chair) in the room. The ceiling slanted so much that one of the sleepers risked banging their head anytime they got out of bed. On top of this, our commode ceased to work during or second night. Fortunately, we were able to fix it ourselves. Finally, our in-room safe would not open on our last night in the room. The desk clerk was unable to open it and said wait till morning when the floor maintenance worker would open it. She also failed and said wait an hour until the Chief of Maintenance came to work. This person initially could not open the safe either, but she did finally succeed Of much less concern, the hotel had CNN in English in its small lobby, but this was not available in our room. (We were told that the room was on a different cable!!!. Beyond the fiasco of our room, the rest of our stay was OK. The breakfast selections were adequate, and our one dinner in the hotel's restaurant (Westfalia) was of average quality.

Stayed here for 3nights. Clean and comfortable place to stay in a very pleasant small town. Used the on site restaurant a couple of times which was fine even as the poor waiter amused us as he didn't understand my dreadful Spanish - tour guide laughed next day.
