Overall average, nice property poor service

Reviewed 3 august, 2022

The property is huge and well maintained, lots of space to spread out and always could find a chair at the beach & pool. Food at a la carte restaurants was good, much better than buffets. La Comedie and Kyoto were the best, Mexico Lindo and La Dolce Vita also being good. Food quality at buffets is what you should expect so I was not surprised at the quality or variety however I was very disappointed in the poor service at the buffets. Servers were almost rude even after tipping. The ice cream machines in the buffets were always broken. We had a Family Jr Suite Premium Level which was nice for our family of 5 with good space in the room and on the balcony. It is basically 2 rooms connected with a pocket door for privacy between the bedrooms. However there is no privacy in the bathrooms. The showers have a half frosted glass wall and does not have a door that closes. This was a huge issue for my teenagers and my husband and I. After walking into the room you can see directly into the shower. We left notes in Spanish and a tip for housekeeping and the fridge attendant if we needed something. They provide shampoo, conditioner & body wash in the showers but they are not good quality so I suggest bringing your own. Bring a 20 or 24 oz yeti cup, take it to the pool bar with $1 and order your drink. They will make it strong. I ordered a portable clothes line to hang swimsuits, cover ups, towels from on the balcony which was very helpful for drying. There is no where to hang these outside other than the chairs which we like to sit in. Lots and lots of seaweed on the beach. They haul it away every day but it was just too much. Nothing the hotel can do but we didn't spend any time on the beach because of it. We liked the Pirate water park, it wasn't crowded and the kids enjoyed the slides. However there are no bathrooms or bar at this water park. You have to leave and walk over to the mini-golf area, then check back in with the attendant every time. Golf course is difficult bring LOTS of balls. My husband and son lost 2 dozen! They have a clinic & pharmacy if you get sick or need medicine and there are lots of good shops for souvenirs, jewelry, toiletries, clothing, alcohol, etc. Prices were decent (I didn't expect cheap). Overall this is a slightly above average resort however we probably will try somewhere else next time.

Could have been better

Reviewed 3 august, 2022

We were expecting a great resort based on the reviews we read. It was an average resort with some rude staff. The rooms are not very clean, had insects and lizards. The linens had some red dots on them. Overall, the cleanliness is not what we were expecting. We will not be recommending nor staying at that resort moving forward.
