This is an honest review from a very disappointed couple. We are well traveled and were so excited for our trip, The first few days we had to move room 3 times due to problems with rooms such as plumbing etc, Maintenance people coming in and out ..Packing...Unpacking totally exhausting. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, Beach and Sea paradise, Food OK, Alacarte disappointing. Chicken curry full of bones. This is why we are rating 2 stars...Read on.... Unless you constantly have dollars to tip in your hands ....expect to be ignored. We tipped...But not everytime, and stopped once we realised just how dreadful the service was. Waiting at the bar next to be served and the barman ignores me to serve others...you guessed it...dollars in hand! I was snapped at twice by a chef in the buffet restaurant because his omelets were burning and I wasn't speaking fast enough. We had to beg for coffee for breakfast and drinks with meals, Put our hands up to be served, Staff ignoring us and walking past...Infact our last meal we were finished eating our food and so thirsty having asked 3 times politely in 50 min, We left to go and get a drink. Plates were cleared from our table, no eye contact, no was everything OK...nothing. I asked what meat was in a dish on the buffet and told pig, no-one spoke English in the restaurant. Staff were lazy....in no rush to give good service....shocking! The pool was grubby....3 lifeguards sat together all day on phones...no work ethic! Zero work ethic. The gardeners however worked so hard. As did room cleaners who did get our tips Reception were helpful and one member of staff Elaine on the front desk scores 10/10 for trying to help us, She should be a restaurant manager .....Even the girls at the entrance to restaurants were lethargic and never smiled. It's such a shame as Dominican Republic is truly beautiful but we won't return because of our experience. Staff need basic training on customer services skills , they were miserable and moody.

Huge resort-better enjoy walking. Tons of strollers and crying babies at every meal. VERY limited adult only areas. Beautiful beach. VERY pushy salespeople inside resort and on the beach. Would go back only if traveling with children under 10.

I would not holiday to the Dominican Republic again. We had issues at the hotel and these were mostly dealt with but a lot of the issues are endemic on the island. We only left the Resort itself once and that was on a boat trip that was clearly adult only but had children on it. The music was loud with swearing and the locals (and some tourists) where near nakedly “twerking” on the catamaran. I don’t have a problem with it only that it was inappropriate for the clientele onboard. The grounds & pools of the hotel are lovely and very well looked after, the food is also very nice. The hotel falls down with its rooms, housekeeping & overall maintenance.

Overall the resort was nice. The check in process was very smooth and quick. The check out, not so nice. Yan at check out was horrible. The room, at first glance, was nice. There was a major issue with the drain in the shower. The drain was loose and the 2 people that came out to fix it, didn't fix it. They kept telling us tomorrow, and never came back. We were there for a week and it was never fixed. I cut my foot on the loose drain. The food at the buffet was great and the two servers, Romelia and Felix were absolutely amazing. Going back to the maintenance issue, Alejandro, the first maintenance man that came out, was cursing me out in Spanish, until I told him that I understand what he was saying. We travel alot and for the above mentioned reasons, will never go back to this resort.

guest service is unprofessional and make more problems instead of resolve them. They admit that they need to compensate you and instead tell you to go to different restaurants and pay out of pocket. How is it a compensation for inconvenience?
