A relaxing week
The hotel has an excellent location and has a very good quality price ratio. The pool is very good and, even in high season, is not too crowded. The restaurant has lots of options, different every day, and the staff is always kind and helpful. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and big. Just one additional for people traveling by car: the red zone parking in the street is very cheap, just 2 eur / day or 7 eur / week so don't waste your time looking for a free space in the non payed zones cause it's almost impossible to find one.
Nice hotel with beautiful garden a block from the beach.
Stayed in this hotel for three weeks as my Spanish skills are weak and I wanted all the supports and conveniences of a hotel. It's not technically on the beach, but it's a block away, basically a five minute walk to the sand. Hotel staff was supportive and spoke enough English so, in combination with my functional Spanish, I could communicate any needs or issues. Ground floor lobby area contains a large lounge, bar and some shaded tables outside large doors. A large dining room is also on the ground floor, where buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are served during specified hours. Breakfast was good. I didn't have the lunch or dinner, but many guests lined up for all the meals and seemed to dress up for the dinner. A large pool with smaller kiddie pool is outside within a large garden area. A tropical themed bar is also in the garden that serves some food on weekends, but the Diego Barbecue is no longer there. Got a large double room with a sea view on the top floor and was quite satisfied with it's size and cleanliness. Hotel has twin beds pushed together to make a double, which is common in Europe, but still odd to Americans. Bed was comfortable and sheets were crisp. TV was adequately sized and had a variety of channels to watch, but was situated on the small desk instead of mounted on the wall, which took away precious desk space. Small fridge was inside the desk, but there are no ice machines. Balcony was good, and included privacy barriers on each side, a small table and chairs and a drying line. It got a little hot when in direct sunlight during midday, but in the morning and at sunset was nice. A glass door and floor to ceiling windows ran the entire length of the balcony, so a great view from inside the room was available when you pulled the blackout drapes back. AC was good. The room is equipped with a thermostat, but it is set by the hotel. If you want it cooler or warmer, you have to call the front desk. Bathroom was well appointed, with a large stand up shower and two sinks. Sometimes the water temperature fluctuated a bit, but this can be minimized by not having the pressure all the way up. Standard amenities were provided (shampoo, soap, Q-tips, blow dryer, etc), but a toothbrush and razor were also included. Only hiccup for me was the Wifi, which was strong when it was running, but it was sometimes hard to connect (would not assign an IP address). Staff thought it might be because I had a mac, but a friend staying with me also had difficulty with a windows machine. I had a connection about 70% of the time. All told, I would definitely stay here again.
Worth a visit.
This hotel was a stop over and we were very disappointed as it’s more a 4 star than anything else. The rooms were clean and hotel is just off the beach. We had a sea view on the 3 Rd floor and the room was huge. We enjoyed breakfast and a walk along the beach. Would stay here again.
Great stay made special by 7 days of cloudless skies
Comfortable hotel. Friendly staff. Pleasantly surprised by quality of the buffet food. Not much variety but OK. Punta Umbría is quiet at this time of year as the owners of holiday homes wont arrive until Holy Week. WiFi generally slow.
Good vacation... Nice time spent...
We've stayed in this hotel in June and we liked it very much... Confortable... Nice views from our rooms... Great food... The beach is right across the street... Good location... Perfect for a couple's 7 days vacation... The only that didn't work very well was the Wi Fi (ou bedroom maybe was too far from the rooter)... The rest was excellent
