A great hotel, but off the beaten track
Firstly, this is a great hotel. Easy access from the airport by taxi. The only downside to it, is that it is not really close to anything. I did not find any local shops etc within easy walking distance. Taking that out f the equation, this is a wonderful hotel. The staff were very helpful, Rambo Liu at reception helped us with all our questions and queries, and ensured we had a quick, easy check in. In the bar, Joyce Chen came to know us, always polite, always atentive withut being overbearing. In the restaurant, Melody Wang made us feel welcome, even coming out of the restaurant on one occasion with a little box of pastries for us. A very nice touch, and indicative of the level of service we received. There were two restaurants on site that we used, The Captain Restaurant, which was where we also had breakfast. The buffet is very good value, and includes alcoholic beverages. As with all buffets, the food is continually being replenished, so always fresh and hot. The Qingdao bay is where we had a lunch with friends, a very good selection of tasty food, and a very reasonable cost. The local Tsingtao beer is a mustto try, well chilled, it is the perfect end to a hectic day. Rooms were spacious, clean and tidy, with good wifi. Beds big and comfortable (as always) and a nice size TV. We would have no hesitation in returning again. Well done to all the staff for making our visit so enjoyable.
