Easy access to city centre

We had an enjoyable stay. The rooms are quirky, spotlessly clean, and it’s just a five minutes walk to the city. Would recommend the breakfast inclusive option. They serve a full breakfast. The internet is not very good though but you may experience that in many of the South Island hotels. Have a good mobile plan as a back up. Great to see tourists in the country again. It’s been hard for the hotels to keep going these last few years and they totally deserve a little love!

Stayed in a family chalet view room. A few small things which needed repairing - bathroom basin was very slow to drain, kitchen tap wobbled about - just small things that housekeeping should probably pick up. Otherwise great hotel in a good location with reasonable prices. Have stayed before and would stay again.
Huge lack of customer service

I booked the room through Booking.com and after 20 minutes I arrived at check-in around 4:00 pm. Sue, the manager on duty, told me that there was no clean room and that I had to either wait an hour to be cleaned or pay extra for a clean room that is more expensive than the one I booked. Since I work in a luxury accommodation business, I asked him why I had to be responsible for them not having the room ready if it was 4:00 p.m. and that they should offer me the room that is ready at no extra cost. She really took the time to contradict everything I said and was really adamant in making it clear to me that it was not their responsibility if I booked through Booking.com and that they would not offer anything to compensate me. Every time I spoke she repeated the same speech, which in the end made me waste more time because she still hadn't told the Housekeeping team to clean the room. When I finally told her that I wouldn't pay for a more expensive room that was clean, she was finally kind enough to tell the team to clean the room and it turned out that the room was already clean! Why didn't she check and organize everything as soon as I checked in? The other receptionist, a gentleman, he was nice and polite and seemed to be keen to fix the issue but the manager took over the situation. Such a terrible management skills! Such a lack of customer service! All accommodation businesses here in Queenstown appreciate being chosen and offer excellent service to captivate guests but here it seems that they want to scare them away. I will never choose this accommodation again or recommend it.

The room is exceptionally clean and spacious just right for our anniversary night to tour every corners of it ;) Staff were very accommodating, location were perfect just couple of walks to town with a bit of “ready yourself for a bit of a cardio” as you gonna walk from a hill... but all in all.. a great weekend!
