Good clean hotel
We found this little hotel while driving around Lesparre-Médoc searching for a hotel. It was late in the evening and we were very happy that there was still a room available. The room was small and a bit worn out but clean. Breakfast was typical French so no cheese, ham nor eggs but quality and quantity was good. Service was very friendly and would stay again when around.
Charming and typically French - fantastic alternative to the usual French chains of budget hotels
Simple, straightforward, even a little dated but charming and full of character. Had a one night stay in late July whilst travelling from Brittany to the Languedoc with my wife, children and French in-laws. About ten minutes from the Royan Gironde Ferry and easy to find, ample shaded parking and a nice library of Medoc leaflets and booklets to set you up for a day, or more, on the Medoc wine trail. The rooms are simple and about what you'd expect from a small B&B of this kind, but wholly suited to the needs of the overnight traveller. Our room was set up for four and was a little cramped, but again wholly manageable. No restaurant at the hotel (check out the excellent Le Saint Roch only a minute away) but the breakfast was a plentiful staple of croissants, pain au chocolat, brioche, cereals, juices, coffees and hot chocolates etc. It does what it says on the tin but a little better than you expect for the money- even the resident cat - well past its best is still a charming addition to the hotel. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
A very comfortable stay - thank you
We stayed in February. It was our first time in this area and we really liked it. The hotel is extremely well managed and our room was spotless. We had a lovely breakfast. The design of this hotel is clever because there is a courtyard and the parking is undercover. Also, a good sized swimming pool for warmer weather. Thank you for such a comfortable stay.
Bohémien
This is a very nice and welcoming hotel. Owners are very kind and friendly. Rooms are clean and large. There are many parking lots (covered). Breakfast is very good and abundant. There is a little swimming pool and a very nice garden, furthermore hotel has a bar, and give the possibility to have very nice time. There is also the possibility to have lunch or dinner under request. Queyrac is near a lot of chateaux, and near to the hotel there is a very nice restaurant (Saint Roch). Just two negative points: -no air conditioning. -rooms at ground floor have only french windows directly to the garden, so there are non possibility to leave the window open during the night.
'Quaint' but very adequate
I recently stayed at the Hotel des Vieux Acacias with friends. The hotel is slightly off the beaten track in Queyrac, but very handy if you are wine tasting in the medoc region. There are plenty of good wine chateaus nearby! The hotel is typically french, a bit run down, but was clean, quaint and with very nice owners. We only had breakfast which was excellent. They did do evening dinner if booked. There is an adequate restaurant a 100 yards away for lunch/dinner. There are double and twin rooms, as well as what are termed apartments. A twin room cost 55 euros and breakfast was 8 euros each. I would be more than happy to go back there to stay and would recommend to friends if they are looking for a simple hotel. There is free wifi and satellite tv in the rooms. And a small outdoor pool. Plenty of parking within the walled garden.
