Puerto Holbox

We went during covid when hotels just started to open up - and this hotel does an excellent job with their precautions. Masks, sanitizer, and so on. The hotel grounds are beautiful, Pool is well kept and rooms and spacious, modern and clean. All have a sea view. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is on the quiet part of the beach/island and is beautiful. We would stay again. The beach area and restaurant wasn’t open yet due to covid. The hotels on each side offered nice views and meals. We had room 14 with king bed. Set back a little bit on the property but still with ocean view.

My husband and I loved our stay at Hotel Puerto Holbox. The hotel was in a great location - close enough to walk to the square (about 5-7 minutes) but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful. The dog rescue is a block away as well so we were able to visit the dogs and take them out for walks. The room was decorated nicely and very clean; the hotel has beautiful landscaping. The included breakfast is awesome and service was great from the front desk to beach waiters. A few things that would make the hotel even better - the shower had really low water pressure and it was hard to rinse shampoo out of my hair, fans at the restaurants to keep the flies away and beach umbrellas at the beach club instead of sheets so that the view of the ocean isn't blocked. Those little things won't keep us from coming back, we're already booked for 9 nights in November!

Very nice, well kept hotel right on the beach. Short walking distance to restaurants, bars etc. I think it was overpriced for what you got; but so is more or less everything on Isla Holbox. We were unlucky with the weather; windy and rainy, and then it was not really anything to do at the hotel. The restaurant is outside, and there is no indoor area to hang out in if the sun fails you. We spend a couple of breakfasts in down jackets, still freezing. Breakfast though was very good!

Our rooms and the whole grounds were clean and a lot of space on the beach (sun and shade). Our beach shore was one of the CLEANEST on the whole island (we walked from end to end). This is super important since many were full of seaweed. Someone mentioned that you have to pay to use the front loungers but this was not the case for us. We were told guests can use them for free. Also, you get FREE BREAKFAST. It was good and they are very accommodating. There are 4-5 options and you get fruit/yogurt/granola with it too, plus other pastries if you want. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was a super nice bonus too! I would 100% stay here again!

The hotel was great, nice beachfront location away from the main town area if you want some quiet, the staff were friendly, called us a taxi when we were leaving, no complaints! The room was huge and clean!
