Raglan beech is a world class walk.

We have been a couple of times on various deals and anniversaries. We really enjoyed the massage and the breakfast packs. Rooms are pleasant with several decor variations. Raglan is a hidden gem as a destination.

A little piece of paradise

We had an amazing weekend staying at the Ahi room, with a north facing deck overlooking the beautiful coast it was hard to leave. We had relaxing and thorough massages from the skilled masseuse who set up on the deck and after sunset were able to witness a meteor shower (thanks to the lack of background light) from the comfort of the hot tub. Would highly recommend Waoku to anyone looking to unplug from the hustle and bustle.

Certainly NOT 5 star!

Broken outdoor furniture. Broken kitchen appliances. Poor communication around visit and a lack of concern with communication breakdown. Would not recommend and am bitterly disappointed and feeling VERY ripped-off.

Great place to land

We had a wonderful overnight stay with Sara at the Waoku Lodge. Our 2 bedroom unit (called WHENUA) was beautiful with a private deck, comfortable outdoor lounge furniture and hot tub. The views are magnificent with a manicured garden and working BBQ. Our morning generous breakfast was delivered to our door with farm fresh eggs and milk complete with bacon, sausage, bread and Jam. We both had a relaxing professional massage and facial (I also completely enjoyed a hair treatment!). Sara was gracious, accommodating and kind. I would highly recommend her oasis...

Great view and location but falls short in some areas

We stayed for 2 nights in the Ahi room. It is a beautiful location, with a nice view (unfortunately power lines make for poor photography). The couches were comfortable although the material is quite worn. Kitchen has nice appliances and granite counters. Bathroom was in good shape and towels were thick. Beds were adequately comfortable. Breakfast baskets were generous with food which was good quality. You have a choice of breakfasts and Sarah was happy to customize. We liked the location near surfing beaches and away from the busy town. Downsides: (1) many light bulbs didn’t work. (2) many dishes missing or never were there. We had only 2 plates, which made cooking for 4 a bit nutty - we used bowls. (3) office hours limited to 9-5. After a busy day if you had a question you couldn’t be helped until the next morning. (4) some outdated information, such as Raglan Watersports no longer existing despite a pile of flyers in the office. If I were to return to Raglan I’d probably try to find an AirB&B or similar independent lodging. We were happy enough with Waoku but probably could do better at the price.
